QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Aug 13 2010, 11:16 PM) there is this software which i kinda forgot the name...it kinda integrates youtube, facebook, or any other sites into one magazine-style layout page.... It's Flipboard and thankfully it's free. anyone know what is the name of this apps? thanks But so far the only integrated social networking sites are Facebook and Twitter (the first two 'default squares'). No Youtube though. For the most part it shows snippets along with the webpage link. Photos on FlipPhotos are always a delight too. I use Pulse News Reader to view RSS feeds and articles without linking to the webpages themselves. Quick, easy and almost no loading time. |

QUOTE(cookie860217 @ Aug 16 2010, 11:22 PM) that is your perception of the ipad, not everyone use it as u do so please dun generalise it in the way u use it I look at my iPad as just a big iPod Touch. But there's really nothing wrong with that. He's just giving his own opinion, just stick with yours. It can be a toy and it can be other things to different people. |

QUOTE(ksc_3688 @ Aug 17 2010, 03:35 AM) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but calling it an big iPod touch is like an insult to such great invention. Who said I was making derogatory statements about either device? I have both and I love them both, and obviously my statement was not meant to be taken absolutely literally. Ipads is different from iPod touch can be clearly proofed by the points singled out by string. iPod touch has limited capabilities compared to the iPad, And it's an innovation, not an invention. I'm pretty sure tablet PCs have been around for a while. -------------------- Update: thanks for deleting my previous post, whoever you may be. I didn't realize dissent and difference of opinions is never tolerated in LYN. You've done your job. This post has been edited by AfiqLikesFender: Aug 17 2010, 02:50 PM |

QUOTE(aRRrgghh @ Aug 20 2010, 02:59 PM) I just got a Jabra Clipper, a cheaper variation of the Halo. Works perfectly too, although the included earphones weren't up to scratch IMO.QUOTE(jasonbourne222 @ Aug 20 2010, 10:46 PM) hey guys, im confused right now...how do i transfer videos or pictures and music from my PC to my IPAD?? its complicated...what kind of app should i use?? and please tell me theres a FREE way of doing this...its just file transfer lol Music and pictures should be pretty straightforward once you've read the manual, but for transferring movies you should get CineXPlayer from the app store, it was still free last time I saw it. It enables you to transfer files without the hassle, but the video quality will not be optimized. That's one drawback if you're not using converters, but I'd trade that for the ease of use. Not recommended for short videos though; the app interface is clunky and you won't even be able to create subfolders. Another alternative is to stream your videos from your PC by Wifi through apps such as StramToMe.This post has been edited by AfiqLikesFender: Aug 20 2010, 11:41 PM |

I use my non-3G iPad along with a wireless router + maxis broadband, a bit cheaper than getting a mifi. Now I'm online all the time.

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Aug 23 2010, 01:23 AM) It's not a 'home' router since I can use it anywhere with my Maxis mobile USB. It's the Aztech 553M, which is fairly small and turns my 3G into a wifi hotspot, which is what a 'mifi 3G travel router' does. Upside: cheaper than the e585, ( bought it for RM140), easy set-up, does almost everything a mifi unit would Downside: requires a separate power source, substantial speed decrease when sharing more than 3 devices This post has been edited by AfiqLikesFender: Aug 23 2010, 03:01 AM |

QUOTE(Linda_fastpac @ Sep 5 2010, 02:09 PM) Hey guys can u guys try watching videos here on your iPad? iPad doesn't support Flash. If you're lucky, you might find the HTML5-encoded video on the iPad's YouTube. They don't seem to load http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/ten/21746894 |

QUOTE(bidfordun @ Sep 20 2010, 01:39 AM) Some of u mention that utube vids are unable to play at flipboard but so far i dun encounter such prob yet. You can't play Flash-encoded files on the iPad. The Touchscreen version contains HTML5-encoded videos only, so you won't be able to find everything from the YouTube website.Added on September 20, 2010, 1:54 amJust curious. Why can we only stream youtube vids on youtube app and not on youtube website? The search function at youtube app is too horrible bcos the results i got are nog what i want. |

QUOTE(bidfordun @ Sep 20 2010, 10:57 AM) Oh really? Kinda disappointed to hear this. Hmm, so how are we gonna know if the video is html5 or flash encoded if i plan to look for some vids at youtube website directly? You won't be able to know in advance, but you'll see a broken link when you encounter Flash videos. |

QUOTE(Trong-FC @ Nov 12 2010, 05:49 PM) iOS 4.2 has been delayed due to last-minute WiFi connection issues experienced by many users running the GM build on the iPad. A newer GM version has apparently fixed the Wi-Fi issues. You'd think Apple would be inclined to keep to the promised 'November' release, so expect it sometime in the next fortnight. |

Works perfectly so far. No problems with Wi-Fi or multitasking, speedy as before. Now it's on par with the iPhone 4.

No AppleTV for me, but I am getting an Airport Express soon. Streaming music to my sound system from ANY iOS device is a pretty big deal for me.
