Hold the power button (top) and the push button (middle) together for 10-15 seconds... should be able to reset it...

My work perfect after updating, no reset required.

Before I update to 4.2.1, my iPad battery was at 55% power and it was not charging as I plug it into my pc's front USB port (it's normal for front USB cause the front USB dun provide much power and hence it won't charge the iPad )

After upgrading to 4.2.1, I noticed the power is at 62%. does it mean the new os utilize less power ?

The iPad is charged tru USB if the screen is turn off/standby/autolock

Eventhough it says not charging at your ipad when u USB your computer.
It actually charges...at a very slow pace.

can someone confirm this..

If I never sync the iPAD before to a laptop (new) but have use the ipad i.e download from apps store

do I set it up as a new device? Will all my d/led apps get deleted?

you might need to kick it out of recovery if you still cant successfully restore your ipad.

ya... seems like my IPAD is draining battery much more faster compared to OS 3.....

They won't get deleted, instead your apps will be backed up in your laptop upon sync.

shit la, i going off chiang mai on thurs...i wan my ipad back la...tml very bz le...story teach us dun try to do update b4 u travel...

To restart the iPad, hold down the hold and home buttons at the same time. The hold button is on the top right corner of the iPad's case. The home button is the circular button just under the screen on the center of the iPad.

Hold these buttons down until the screen flashes and goes dark.

You can then restart the iPad by holding down the Hold button until the Apple icon appears. Let go of the buttons and you'll be using your iPad again in just a few seconds.

Please convince me this thread is useful. Coz there's that big honking iPad discussion thread available instead of opening a new one. All these ate your preference nobody can sway or convince you otherwise. Thread reported.

If you don't have a ideal portable laptop, ipad is a pricey gadget to invest.

If you already have one laptop but it is heavy to bring around. And your common outdoor computing activities just plainly surfing net.

Ipad is good for that due to its bigger screen.

Somehow, iphone can do pretty good in surfing net & gaming compare to what ipad can. If you just want quick checking your email & facebook.

Iphone allow to aim & shoot then upload your picture instantly. Ipad don't have camera for this convenient.

Somemore import pictures into ipad is a troublesome steps. You can google about it. It's a letdown to people who like to store alot of pictures constantly on ipad.

Holding an ipad around 10mins is tired your arm.

My common activities after having it for 3 months -
40%- surfing net. (For facebook viewing pictures & quick comment)
20% - pdf magazine/comic reading
20% - gaming
15% - Movies watching
5% - Sketching on Brushes/Autodesk Sketchbook

Haha.. i spent less time in making ipad as a productive tool instead of an entertainment gadget most of the time.

I prefer to do all my work on Laptop to be frank.

They will be alot of apps to make ipad a wonderful tool or a boring gadget. Depends on the user creativity.

The most impressive thing is the long battery life. 1 charge allow 10 hours of activities for you to waste with an ipad.

p/s: Remember you have to spent money on Apps to make Ipad a "fully functionality" machine.

Hope it helps you to decide an ipad now or later.

As you can see , I already have an iPhone . I've been reading around Google and LYN about iPad yet I still can't convince myself that an iPad is useful and YET I still want one.
Thus this thread was created to receive such feedback !

did u close some of the apps? This happened when i didnt close many apps at the multitasking bar.

You already have the iphone might as well wait for the next ipad and see how is the hardware upgrade.

I don't have an iphone so its fine for me to have one of this Touch screen Fun time gadget.

I scare of exposing it at crowded place. Inside restaurant or cafe still ok. You can do whatever u want with iphone at any situation you prefer.
My colleagues play iphone games whenever they want during working hour. Until now i don't expose it in the office. It is such a 'luxury' toy to show off still.

Ipad is obviously attracting like a butterfly. I tried before and i don't really enjoy the attention like this. You never know what kind of peoples are watching at you.

I am contented with what ipad can do to make it blend into my life style. I also understand what is not convenient to do with it now. haha.
