I guess maybe it would be more appropriate to put my queries here... , and hope you can give me  some good recommendations.

I am looking for a good SQ headset, comfortable for long hour use, compact and fold-able is a plus point since I will be using it a lot for traveling, good sound isolation and good leakage handling, and I like clean clarity sound with some bass.

My source would be my Hi-Fi set at home, ipod when traveling, and notebook/ipod when in office.

My budget would be not more than RM1500.

Which is the best time to visit Jaben? Preferably when there aren't too busy because so I'm new and would need advice and perhaps some explaining as well so I suppose its only logical to come when they aren't swamped.

I'm trying to put together I guess you could say from scratch, a system that allows me to enjoy music. I used to be into DJing and messing aroud with FL Studio etc so although I have many headphones but they're brands like Allen & Heath Xone, AKG240s, etc and ALL my speakers are really studio monitors - KRK Rokit 5s, KRK VXT8s and Alesis M1 Active 620s. I've also got ICE setup in my cars but it's not an audiophile or SQ setup because I needed to a able to listen to music at high speeds so quality was not as important.

I want to be able to enjoy music and to be honest, I don't know where to begin. Right now my only decent headphones are MS-1 and I'm listening to Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. But my music tastes vary and I listen to pretty much anything.

Previously, I've bought some audio equipment and custom cables, speaker stands etc from Tong Lee and although they are extremely friendly and accommodating, I now live closer to D'sara/PJ side and Jaben seems not only convenient but the type I'd be comfortable dealing with.

From what I gather, I need a DAC and some form of amplifier and headphones. I've asked around but no one seems to be serious because I cannot specify a budget but if I do not know what I need, I can't pluck a figure out of the air right?

But judging from the % thread of money spent, I notice that the even the more serious setups on these forums are not expensive so I have ti ask if this is due to DIY? I wouldn't be needing an advanced system and perhaps a fraction of what others pay is enough to make me happy.To begin with I doubt I'd appreciate the warmth of soundstage etc all of which I have no idea what they mean. I'd be hardpressed to be able to notice all the differences etc between all setups.

Actually, in my post I did mention that I listening to some classical music at that exact moment but definitely not a die hard fan. Also listen to oldies like Ray Charles, Cat Stevens, Aretha. Depends on my mood really. Sometimes I feel like listening to Queen; who can resist Bohemian Rhapsody. Or if I'm working on something I'd listen to something like Alicia Keys or even Leona Lewis. I can't really pick a favorite genre only that 40% or so is electronic music and I'd want something with a bit more bass.

Hahah it sounds like I want a headphone that makes everything sound good even the Gotcha calls on HitzFM! 

One more thing, given the fact that most of my music is on my computer would I need to upgrade my soundcard or would getting a DAC/AMP combo be enough. I do have an external Roland UA-4FX sound card but I've used it record mainly plus I'd have to actually find out where I put it. So let's assume no upgraded soundcard; is it worth doing first or later on?

This maybe a naive question but I have some on CD and some on PC; the ones on PC are lossless but do I burn them onto a CD or onto external HDD or what? Also, the CDs aren't audiophile CDs because they don't seem to cater to my type of music I think. But they are original from store of course.

How to rip to lossless file?
