Actually, it's to complement the DDM.
Not only is it a dual driver BA (as opposed to DDM's dual dynamic) but it also has a totally different sound signature, more to the analytical side.
They're both similar but technologically two different animals. Would be quite interesting to add to my collection.

Maybe it'll only be a DDM and Graham Slee Voyager that I'll be getting from Jaben. sad.gif

Get the DBA and you won't need anything else tongue.gif at least not until you try the top-tiers..

Nah, my curiosity for the DDM got the best of me. I just need to have that. And after reading reviews for the DBA, I just have to have that too. tongue.gif

DDM and DBA-02. I tested DBA-02 few days back, thanks to William that bring along it together with the FA-003 and I own the DDM myself.

Put it this way, these two earphones really present the music in different way. The DBA is more on analytical side, maybe because of the nature of BA driver. The sound is so transparent and the high can expand far far from what DDM can. The vocal is details but I will say DDM is more emotional.

For example, when you listen to Diana krall, you can feel how she sing with DDM and with DBA-02, you can feel hows her voice in details more.

Bass is deep with texture for DDM, fuller compared to DBA.

I will say these two phones really excel in different aspect. I feel that DDM is warm with little to no hiss due to its sound nature.

Never try Earsonics, but tested Shure 530 before. Very nice detail but have to beware of the source, very sensitive to sibliance.

Later on as my financial income advances, I'll look into a triple driver. Was going for the UM3x but then I thought, "Nah, still too early".

Later on, I'll go custom. brows.gif

Go for custom straight if fund permitted...
If not, ikat perut for a while first...

I kinda regretted of buying SE535 after I lost my IE8 last year...
I auditioned JH16 first with stock cable followed with Crystal Piccolino cable and how I wished I should have go for custom

Well, I'd need to have a 5 figure savings first. laugh.gif
No one has ever talked about a Future Sonic custom here. No one ever tried one?

Depending on the mood and the music I listen to, I do want details. Other times I'd look for a fun IEM. biggrin.gif

Haha, to my eyes right now they're a bit overpriced for what they are.
Hey, I see from your siggy You have a Clip+ and a Gumstick. Tell me, how does the 2 compare when it comes to sound? Do you use those amps you have with both?

comparison to sound... Clip+ lack of power output is something that makes it inferior to Class A amp Gumstick when it comes to full sound presentation, basically Gumstick performs more in terms of bringing out sound in IEMs or such compared to Clip+ when connecting directly. But, in terms of balance, Clip+ wins since Gumstick has this issue of... fixed equalizer from the start...

Well, if I'm not really going around too much, I would connect amp to them. ohmy.gif

Well, even looking at the graph the Clip+ is obviously has one of the flattest freq presentation around. So does that mean the Clip+ will synergize better with an amp?

Can I ask what you mean by balance? So that means the gumstick is unbalanced, does it mean it is too strong or too weak in either the bass, mid or treble? What about detail, clarity, which is better - Sansa Clip+ or Gumstick? Thanks

I thought that Gumstick's equaliser just shows "Rock" even when the EQ is actually set to 0dB throughout?

But the Gumstick doesn't actually flat line right? So comes the question, would a very neutral and flat player perform well with an amp?
