Just use the IEM as normal and I think it is the most efficient way to burn in the IEM since you are burning in using songs that you normally listen to. smile.gif

Or else, I will just plug in my IEM into my Int amp while i playing songs from my PC.

when i first got my UM2...
thats wat i did...
burning while listening...and srsly it din help at all...!
the out of the box performance is so sucky that i almost regret buying it...
then i read thru online...
telling to give it a burn in...
so i did a 24-hr burn....
so the next day i picked it up again...
and ....BAM!!!!!!
i smiled!
i've never heard anything that good before!
the bass tightens, gives better impact, the highs sparkles and the mids...just...woahhh!

so...i say burning in does help....
whats important is...to what degree...

not too long.
but i cant remember.
bcoz during when i bought the UM2 i was having my exams or was it assignments.
so i just let it play on my laptop with a bit higher than my listening volume. playing one song that i like, then loop it.

when all my exams was over, i took a listen to it and it sounds better.
exact time i dunno. biggrin.gif

i feel the same too!
the bass is punchy no doubt.
but the significant sibilance kills the mood.
i sold it off within 1 month.
i prefer the UM2 over the W3

Added on November 4, 2010, 10:27 pmc-note...
hows the AD700?
Any good?

LOL same..i traded it for my tf10. But it's spectacular with certain tracks..like RnB. I couldn't believe the um3x could sound so different coming from the same company sweat.gif

AD700..the soundstage thumbup.gif bass abit lacking but should suffice a mids guy like me. It's pretty similar to the AD2000 but AD2000 trumps in all aspects, like a notch above.

Oh and the earpads could be abit of a problem..it's not as comfortable as pleather pads...in fact I sweat with THAT pads, but not with my denon pleather laugh.gif ..I'm still waiting for Jaben to bring in the A1000 pads.

They don't sound similar to me xD

If they discard the W3 and put the W3 casing into the UM3x, then the UM3x will definitely be my most wanted IEM. LOL

i just came back from jaben...
and may God protect me...
i did something i was not supposed to do...

Az...
i m not to sure about the design...
but materials definitely plays a part...
bcoz it determines how the resonance would be handled...

biggrin.gif

i heard ppl saying wood gives nice vocals...
metal gives nice sparkling highs...
