ok...i tried mantaray xt cpc and no cpc, merlin both cpc and no cpc.
all latest version. i get lower benchmark score on sisoft sandra at memory and cpu for the merlin modded bios. and also lower score on mantaray xt cpc on.
with mantaray xt cpc off, i get about same with the original v27 bios score. but no hope to get more than 205fsb at x10.5.

2.6v is not enough la dude..... try 2.8 or 2.9. KVR carry lifetime warranty... so dun worry.....
*
lifetime waranty..but if when the ram die, want to claim bak oso susah.... i only got 1pc of tis ram.

if i up the voltage to like 2.8v or 2.9v, without ram sink can the ram overheat?

btw...i am using all stock cooling...so if i hav to up the fsb higher, i'll need more vcore and the cpu will be proly more hot.

the rams are okay at 2.9 volts
those that need cooling are those running above this voltage like 3.0-3.2
2.9 is okay for daily operations
my ram has been running 2.9volts for ages and without problem.
*
ok...i believe wut u said. smile.gif
will try it later at 2.9v! tongue.gif lets see if it can up to 400mhz without any weird problem....

Good Morning Fellow Abit Users,
I just changed one of my Kingmax DDR 400 with a DT-D43 DDR 400

it seems that my Memory Frequency dropped from 420 to 410 ...

is it because of the different timings both rams have ??
*
what chip is ur kingmax using?
do u still using the same timing as b4?

GOOD LUCK BRo. TELL us the results....

erm...

i think 2.8 and 2.9v would be ok.. no prob...

i have been running mine at 2.9v and no heatsink or ramsink or spreader.... works just fine....
*
i tried to set the voltage to 2.8v or 2.9v and oc my ram to ddr400 but could not POST. sad.gif

i think u muz check and see if the 80mm fans are faster or the 120mm faster. if the 80mm are faster, then try remove the 120mm. if the 120mm is faster, then no need to remove anything.

For Sure the 80mm fan is faster, than the 120mm,

before the 120mm was unplugged, the amount of air flowing thru the rad was GOOD.

but when the 120mm was plugged, the amount of air flowing was kind a bad compared to when it was not plugged in.

maybe i shud remove it or, get another 120mm which is better. and remove the 80mm fan.
*
if u are planning to get another higher rpm 120mm fan, then the 80mm fans does not need to be remove. if not planning to get another 120mm fan, then u shud remove the 120mm fan.

edit bios ?

what do u mean by edit bios ??

if u mean is to make ur own bios, then i think u wud have to ask Tic Tac.

*
ya..i want to make a custom bios like some minor tweaking and add some bios splash screen.

actually its not a bug
nforce does not use the -5 volt rail but it reads it anyway
those acbel oem's dont provide you with a -5 volt rail

it does not do anything la..dont worry...even if its 0, its still okay...only those annoying alarm beeping tru that abit application
*
then how bout the -12 volt? my abit aplication alwiz monitor it go less than -12v...it can go till -13v or -13.5v.

Well u r lucky,

it made some funny noise , well  i guess its time to replace it....

anyways.... has anyone tries putting heatsinks on the other chips ?
*
putting heatsink on southbridge chip? actually u can put a ramsink on the mosfet transistor. it can helps stable the vcore voltage and others.

where and what is mosfet transistor? biggrin.gif
*
is it a power transistor for your vcore voltage, vdimm voltage and other voltage. It is a black and square like component with 3 pin. it will mostly located near your cpu slot near some capasitor there.

okay how to do that? rclxub.gif

juz buy a ramsink like the wan from cooler master. the ramsink comes with thermal tape, so juz stick the ramsink on the transistor. sometimes 1 ramsink can manage to cover 2 transistor if they are near enuf.
