Hey guys, MAXIS is such a bloodsucker. i'm on the values 50 talk plan and the 1.5Gb data for rm 78 (rm68 after rm10) rebate. yday i checked thru *100# of my usage was rm 45.65. (my billing date is 20th every month ). this morning i woke up to find my line barred. apparently my usage is now RM154++ eventhough i did not exceed usage of data plan (3G watchdog shows my usage at 100mb only!!). maxis cust service says its due to "you dunno which telco you're calling to. tat's y u exceed". just wanna share a word of caution. beware of the big M company..

I'm very sure i did not exceed as i'm a light user (use for surf net and updates), i turn off auto sync for background apps, enable only 2G instead of 3G. That's y i am so upset that maxis still manage to find a way to overcharge me. my first month bill was normal. but this bill is such a shocker. Any sifu can advise? maxis customer service is soooo bad everybody telling different story.


how to switch to digi as i'm bound to this vampire for another 11 months ? Sifus please help..

My third call to maxis kinda make me discover new possibilities. I was told by a third maxis cust service agent that i was being charged on 30 seconds block not 1 min!! don't know how true is this but this is the explanation given by him. i tried calling every few hours to get different agent to find out the reason. so far ive got 3 from 3 different people.


1) you exceeded your data plan (i signed for 1.5GB.3G watchdog shows usage of 100MB+)
2) you exceeded your call plan, e.g. you think your calling maxis no., but actually the other user switched telco, so exceed call plan (As of yday 10pm, checked through *100#, i only used rm 46+ out of my RM50 plan)
3) maxis charges user based on 30 secs block, not 1 minute. (not sure about this..)

anyway it's all crap that maxis is serving to it's customers. they can always throttle/send reminders etc once your usage exceed or nears your limits. but they won't, they will happily let you incur as much as you like (while you are happily watching youtube or something)

don't tell me such an advance tech company has trouble implementing such software, but they won't do it coz they can get away with charging more from their customers' "mistakes". well technically you can't win becoz it's all in black and white. you did exceed your limits after all. but what they are doing, while legally right is morally wrong. that's why i won't support companies like this.

i only bought the sgs from them becoz i needed a phone badly at that time and sgs was attractive. but i cancel the contract almost immediately and paid off the bloodsucker. in fact, ended up paying less than rrp and got proper warranty, and got out of the big M's chains ....mlm to M......LOL

I'm on my second bill since signing up for SGS. so they count by month for my bill. I agree that Vampire M has a lot of hidden charges and T&C which they did not inform users whether unintentionally / purposely.


Maxis cust service says they can't check how much i've used exactly. I rmb reading in v2/v1 that someone faced the same problem.

I'm on the 1.5GB, only use for open facebook, check news, etc (very light usage). even if divide to daily use, i will get 50mb, i never exceed that, one day also dun hv. but still being overcharged.

you can use either app to monitor but then maxis will tell you they dun acknowledge the data recorded and they will claim that you change the value to lower values. so even if you bring ur phone v 3G watchdog n show them, they will tell you they wont follow that. will follow maxis' calculation. and there is no tracking service like some of the sifus here mentioned. you won't know how much you've used. and worse, they won't alert you when u exceed limit. suddenly bill comes, it's a bomb. total this month, i've paid rm 250. and im on the maxis value 50+68 package.

just to share my story with you =)

To the Sifus out there, how do I get "kindle" app on my SGS? read that it's a free app but somehow i cant find it in the market ? isit bcz of the region difference hence we dun hv it ?
