tat guys told me i don't need to send any warranty card or fill any card blink.gif
*
My experiance last time with my omnia, you just need to bring receipt. They need it to identify warranty start date. Otherwise it will start from manufacture date. So make sure your imei in receipt is same as phone. What make phone entitle for warranty is the emai no.

because, like Iphone, if they buy the phone and apply the package, they will get Rm80 rebate for 5 months.. does galaxy S have this privilege as well?
*
I think that is new promotion introduced during pcfair.
[EDIT] Sorry I mixed up. That Digi for SmartPlan doh.gif

it maybe cheap, but i need to remind you that the warranty is under the shop, so it will be a hassle to buy it from a shop that is far away from you
Emm it says "SAMSUNG ONE YEAR WARRANTY". So the warranty is from Samsung.

There is no strap, the advertised piece is 8gb, which is not the unit we are getting in Malaysia. That is not a samsung malaysia set.

ohh..ok..i tot my seller con me by taking away something inside the box...
*
Emm very interesting. This seller is from Malaysia with 100% rate. Since he state Samsung Warranty, is it Malaysia now start receiving 8g SGS?

So noobie1, are you get your phone from this seller? Or you just comparing your box with his? Want to know if Malaysia really start having 8gb SGS.

Samsung Mobile service center customer service at plaza berjaya is great btw. It may look veryyy small and simple but the service is not what i imagined earlier. A friend of mine got a hairline on this SGS (one straight line, not sure if its a dead pixel) and it was replaced within a few hours once the stock arrived.  I asked the personnel and she told me the actual price for a replacement of the super amoled is roughly around 600+-. Its a good idea to get the ori set from Maxis. No question asked when my friend handled over the device, he just filled a simple form and bring along his warranty card along and the phone.
*
Right. Samsung service very good. I had gone to their PJ Service Center few times back for my previous phone. That one if the reason I bought SGS. Happy with their service.

Hi, I have a few question regarding how to flash the ROM...
I decided to use the europe firmware which is I9000XWJM5..
so my question is..
1. how to i get the PDA/Modem/CSC file? I dowload the firmware but only has 3 part which are CODE_I9000XWJM5.tar,CSC-I9000SERJM1.tar ,MODEM_I9000XXJM3.tar. Dont seem have PDA part.where did i get it.
2 .IF i need to uxe the current PDA tar file..i dont have it bcoz download using KIES..
*
1. PDA=CODE
2. KIES will update following your region. To flash other region ROM or customized one, you need to use Odin. You can get the step for Odin on first page.

rite. The stock firmware is lagging, but getting better from version to version. Plus the fix is already around. I just applied the fix last night and it's good. But if want to play 3D game, SGS is much faster than Desire.
One more think I love about desire is the screen size. It is big. No need to scroll left and right while browsing.

Actually is Samsung's fault. I used all the HTC android phone, they have an option to off mobile network in settings or just hold your power button, there's an option there.

But not the case for SGS
*
Don't worry. We'll have that option on Froyo wink.gif

After update to JG4, my smoda widgets work perfectly. On and off without having to turn to flight mode to like (kind of refresh the network/stake)

guys, after update to JG4 make a restart.
mayb it's jst me, after updated with the new firmware it felt laggy at 1st, then i made a restart and can notice diffrences is speed and less laggy.
Plus the ram most of the time kept at 100mb+/- available. before restart only about 50mb.
*
next step apply the lagfix. it awesome icon_rolleyes.gif

haha for me 1 hour+= 50% is superb.... especially with the large screen and really great picture

If I remember correctly, I read a review, they do benchmark continuously playing HD video for 2 hours plus before SGS force stop when battery near flat.

gps with or without data usage is the same for me. Google maps (using data) and copilot(without date usage). Gps signal takes about 30 secs to lock on. No difference
*
Same for me. I had tried with Google Maps, Brut Google Navigation and Papago X5. All lock just in few seconds. I am on DXJG4 and previously DXJF4. Both ROM same result.

I don't know about you guys, but it's tiring sometimes to see the same questions asked over and over again in the forum. But then again, with so many pages and posts to go through, I guess this can't be helped.

Most people will probably go nuts if they have to read every single post from V1 to now...
*
QUOTE(ckdenion @ Aug 19 2010, 01:23 AM)
yea..vry agree wif u...
i tink no point to read from v1 till d latest post...
just refer to 1st post at d 1st page...
or xda forums?
*
Normally what I do is put the thread in print mode and do the search using browser search. 3 threads not that bad to do this.

tried doing it.. but ended up failed installation, a msg said "package file was not signed correctly" what does this mean?

Hi I have the same issue as you. Mine is rooted with Ninja dude.

Initially I use this steps which failed to remount. Maybe because of my oneclick lagfix
CODE
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
adb shell pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su

Then I use this method which successfully uninstall the Ninja Superuser. Galaxy is using same method as Nexus One to mount.
CODE
$ su
# (remount for your phone, Nexus One is 'mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system', other phones will use the same pattern, but may vary on the '/dev...' bit)
# rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
# pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su
# (same remount command as above, but with 'remount,ro' instead of 'remount,rw')

Then I reinstall through market and successful. The reason I insist to get the Market one so that it will easy to update in future.

Note: Uninstall the Ninja Superuser will not solve the issue. You need to do the above step to clean install.

Note: The steps above from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828

Logically can since both using X5. But I never try. You can just get the map from Indonesia package and paste inside NaviSEA/Maps/ in your phone. Then let see if our Malaysia X5 can set to Indonesia map.

emmm... hmm.gif Seems like you never use Papago before. You might one to go to this thread to understand more on Papago structure for Android. Then it might be simple for you.

im using papago x5 now=.= wat i mean is,i do not understand those language in tat link, indo bahasa look alike bahasa malaysia, but then still got dif.i not really understand...

ok.. you want map for Indonesia rite? So just click the "Indonesia" on the map to get the package. It is a full package including the Navi and .apk. Since you just want the map, so you just copy over the map from that package to your phone. No need to re-install the apk.

I get my Malaysia package from here. So Indonesia package should be same structure since it also X5.

Well.. that is my assumption logically. I never try my self tongue.gif
