Bros and Sis, I have converted from Nokia to SGS! yay for me! It was pain in the ass to get this phone in Penang.

Being a cheapskate. I didn't want to buy from Gurney because of the inflated price, so I went to BJ, asked almost every shop. Only two shops willing to sell SGS. One shop was charging 2699 but has stock in hand and the other shop RM2500 but no stock on hand. Had to wait for a week for them to get SGS from Maxis. That's why so pain.

I did try Maxis at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah.. the guy said have to wait for 2 weeks. SGS to popular in Penang?

Bro, u can always buy the SP & case online, even in this LYN got few members conducting bulk purchase for these items.

me either, but after using the Capdase Soft Jacket silicone case, I find out its better than normal silicone case. Its also not dust magnet. Thanks to KH Cheah who point out the shop to buy this case. Its also come with free screen protector.

For SGS using firmware JG4, you can disable data connection by going to "settings>wireless n network>mobile networks>access point names>Maxis Internet>APN type". Choose MMS only.

This will disable data internet connection.

better than facebook for android? 

I downloaded the Facebook for Samsung app but can't log-in even after numerous attempts! After I submitted my account details, it will have a pop-up stating "Log-in failed. Please try later." Must have happened 6, 7 times so I got fed up.

Anyone encountered the same problem? Do I have to activate my background sync or any other setting?

Even a camera with flash for low light or night shots won't really give much satisfactory results.

No problems with GPS, I think people get over worked over what the guys in the US are experiencing. Cause from day 1 GPS wasn't an issue to me.

Apps wise, very satisfied.

Yes on the same firmware. Stock firmware. never flash before.
Try changed the US and other value in market access, still the same....   

anyone facing vlingo needs activation, it is not working now and i tried to press activation key which bring to a webpage, not helping as well.

is this an apps that samsung provided for free or we need to buy it eventually???

this method does work. tried it a few days ago. unfortunately, it doesn't work the way i want it to.
i have one folder where i put my ringtones. and i put .nomedia file in it. those ringtones were no longer shown in my music player (stock player).
but now i can't use those ringtones as my ringtones. coz my phone can't find those files.
in the end, i removed .nomedia file from that folder and make a new playlist like before.

Sigh, i also got the same problem with Vlingo.

I downloaded Vlingo from Samsung Apps, then when I wanted to use it, it asked for activation code....so I uninstalled it and try to download and reinstall again...

Unfortunately, i can't reinstall again from Samsung apps...it says Application failed to install no matter how many times I tried. Switch off phone and on again, also cannot.

Then I went to Market to search for Vlingo and when I try to download and install, I got an Installation Error message saying "Insufficient storage available"...how can that be? I still have more than 13GB of Internal SD card space and more than 14GB space on my External MicroSD card...

Anyone can help me?
