There is a zen centre in Penang with a full time residing abbot by the name of Myong An Sunim, JDPS from the Kwan Um School of Zen. He is a Malaysian as well.

They are currently seeking funding to have a permanent home in Penang which would ensure continuity and is definitely better than just a rented place.

Btw, JDPS under the Kwan Um School of Zen means having the authority to teach in the ways of Zen and having a strong center (mind) and in due time shall received full dharma transmission from a zen master. Kwan Um School of Zen is founded by Zen Master Seungsahn.
