Just a human.

The jews were smart and make him divine. Religion is an effective too to control people within a society

No civilization was ever existed without some form of religion. It yields power of control over people's sentiments by fearing the unknown such as death and afterlife, hence its evil.

Why debate about Jesus and Christianity in a Buddhism thread? Go to the Christianity thread, ok?

If you think about having sex with him, do you think he will cringe? laugh.gif just a thought... tongue.gif

The thing about fortune telling, whats the point in life then if you know things before hand? Where is the challenge in facing the unknowns?
The irony is that when one tries to preempt the bad fortune, he ends up fulfilling it.

I believe you.

It's called penetration of mind in Buddhism. A type of Iddhi(psychic) powers.

I give you the trait of this guru - tell me if I am right.

1. He is very calm.
2. He does not indulge in sensuality. He does not indulge in sex/alcohol/ music/entertainment.
3. Mostly a hermit. avoids crowd.

Correct?

I will answer here la.

The Buddha discourages speculation as it gives to a lot of stress, but no way closer to the answer. The only way one knows what Nibbana is , is to actually reach that state himself (see for himself).

yes, we do believe in rebirth, why? because we believe in the existence of Karma. It is due to Karma that we exist in the plains (human, animal, celestials, demons etc etc)
*
Oh, then how come several forum members said it is ok for Christians to practice Buddhism so call the way of life? Mind to elaborate more? From what I know there is no rebirth and karma in Christianity.

meditation is widely accepted in Christianity, and meditation is a core part in Buddhism,

the basis of all religion have the same path way in a sense, even thou Buddhism is not a religion, the rules of conduct are of positive light in the teachings

so why do you need to add our own tainted human judgment into any positive conduct? Karma = you reap what you sow

are you sure there is no such teachings similar to Karma in the Bible?

Galatians chapter 6 and verse 7

QUOTE
Job 4:8  – "...They that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness...,"  what do they reap? It says , "...they reap the same, they reap the same." There's something about sowing that we need to understand and what can come back to you? Some people call it "karma," other people call it different things but the BIBLE  makes it very clear, "what you sow is what you reap."

We find that in history the Roman statesman, philosopher, orator Cicero, he made the statement, "As you have sown, so shall you reap. As you have sown, so shall you reap." And of course we find in Galations 6:7 , I'll ask you to turn there with me, please and notice what the admonition of scripture is. And remember the scripture is the sound and solid admonition that comes from the eternal God Himself to all of us. It says,

Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived..." Now the very fact it says that indicates that we can be deceived on this particular issue if we're not careful. We have to understand something about this thing of sowing and reaping as it applies to us as human beings. "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man ( as well as a woman) sows...," meaning as they live their lives, minute to minute, hour to hour, day by day, year by year, and it goes on. It says, whatever an individual sows, "...that will they also reap."
