QUOTE(low7 @ Aug 10 2010, 01:56 AM) I notice some places it's written Klinik but others written as Polyklinik. I'm just curious, what is the difference between Klinik and Polyklinik? Poly as a prefix means 'many'.Polyclinic usually means they hv more than 1 clinic in the premise - serving a wide range of healthcare services. |

Generally, it also means having more than one doctor running the clinic and can be 24 hours clinic where the said doctors run on shifts.

In theory yes, in practice, polyclinic=clinic. You can name your clinic polyclinic or clinic. There's no rules or regulations on that.

QUOTE(breakdwave @ Aug 11 2010, 01:05 PM) I don't think so, there were TWICE when i had a very very bad stomached at 3-4am and drove around looking for a 24 hours clinic. Trust me, it's NOT easy!!! Some clinics which stated 24 hours but when you walk in, the nurse around will then call the doctor whom stay nearby and you gotta wait till the half-awake doctor came in / another case, the doctor was sleeping in the clinic. =______= |

Well, technically doctors are on call 24 hours anyway. Imagine if you got in the clinic when he is in the midst of "pang sai"

as mention in practise clinic = polyclinic.
if you need emergency treatment, the right place to go is emergency unit of medical center/hospital not clinic. |
