Polo owners, do you know where exactly the engine number is located? Is it imprinted on the engine block somewhere?

QUOTE(Silenced @ Jan 10 2011, 05:17 PM) Guys, whenever I turn the steering of my polo when stationary, the headlamp will turn dimmer and quickly back to normal again,is this normal? My Polo does it too...I don't think it's a problem. I initially suspected that it was adaptive headlights, but I doubt it's a feature on the Polo. Had something weird happen today, turned my engine off after I parked and then decided to repark, so I turned it back on and turned the A/C on, hot air (and I mean HOT air) started blowing, like the heater was set. The temp was only set at 22 degrees...but after I turned the A/C off and back on, it was fine. Also got a rattle that sounds like it's coming from the dashboard/engine compartment on idle...brought it to the service center, they kept the car for a day and told me that they can't fix the problem, something to do with the turbocharger. I read about some owners in Australia who had rattling sounds with their Polos and the fix was to reroute some of the piping in the engine bay. Anyone else experienced the rattling sound? Not a perfect car, but I still love it! |

QUOTE(miczee @ Jan 11 2011, 01:43 AM) open quote: Yeah, I read that on the forum as well. Mentioned it to the SC, but I don't think he was really interested in my opinion on this.Multiple pipes underbonnet and fuel lines noisy, roadtested vehicle with customer and confirmed presence of noises. Traced noise to fuel pipes rattling in chassis rail, removed pipes and insulated with foam, tested, noise now gone. Traced other noise to L/H/F chassis rail holder/clip adrift that holds P.A.S pipes. Refitted clip correctly, tested, noise now gone. Heard another noise, traced this noise to air coupipe rattling against chassis rail on R/H/S manovered pipe away from chassis, no noise evident now. close quote that was fixed by the SC in australia for the polo TSI |

Some of you probably know this already, but I stumbled upon this by accident. Unlock the doors with your remote key, then press and hold the unlock button for several seconds. All the windows will wind down simultaneously. To close, just press the lock button to lock the doors, release, then press and hold the lock button again and the windows will wind up. I think this feature is available on most VWs and Audis.

QUOTE(bbchua @ Jan 22 2011, 02:14 PM) thanks for the info. I did not know that as well. My first continental car too, although I did drive a '69 Mini Cooper for awhile, but it was my brother's, and it sure as hell didn't have a remote control or motorized windows!this is my first continental car . I have a quick question in regard of the auto lock. i found out if any of the door is open from the car, the other 3 doors will be unlocked too. anyone know how to de-active this? i remember the first few weeks i got the car , if one of the passenger door is open from inside, other door will remain unlock n i found it is safer in that way. thx I think you meant the other doors will remain locked. Mine does that too, I tried pressing and holding the lock button on the remote while sitting in the car, as suggested by jwrx, but all it seems to do is to lock the door and activate the alarm (red light blinking). Care to elaborate a little? Thanks! |

QUOTE(Silenced @ Jan 25 2011, 08:47 PM) looks more like a long wheelbase polo, lol As a few others suggested, I think it's the number of days til your next service. If you play around with the buttons, you'll see a little spanner icon, as pictured here. This screen shows the service interval (distance remaining til next service). I believe what you've posted here just shows the number of days, since the service interval is 15,000km or 1 year (365 days), whichever comes first.btw guys, what does the 337 in the screen means? ![]() those digit are keep decreasing but what are them?lol Added on January 26, 2011, 9:55 pm QUOTE(Silenced @ Jan 25 2011, 11:43 PM) I have to say that the owner's manual for the Polo is a piece of c**p!!! It doesn't tell you much at all, I was really disappointed with it.This post has been edited by ultimax5: Jan 26 2011, 09:55 PM |

I drive a Polo too and I get similar FC numbers, so not to worry. The advertised numbers are always based on ideal conditions.Ive been monitoring my fc for quite sometime now but cant get the fc advertised in the brochure. I dunno why. The bes i can get for city driving around 13km/l and highway 15km/l using ron95. Any comments?? |
