You can sourced second hand sets or maybe even brand new (some of them sell as soon they got their car) from Singapore. Check out VAGSG for more info.

this DSG is different though from the MK5 GTI
this one is with a dry clutch and has 7 gears
should be easier to maintain
only time will tell

It was Vagsg forum that made me hesitate a bit initially on Golf. It's quite active forum but most of the post are on the 'negative' side of VW especially on after sales, DSG or mechatronics.
Anyway I told myself what the hell.....using Proton all my life, time for upgrade. Car already at the branch , now just need to settle trade in, NCB...etc,etc maybe couple of days more.

Is this golf Tsi is really worth to get? The dsg transmission seems to be abit different from normal AT transmission, when shift to D,the car won't move by itself,we need to control the pedal to move the car right?

worth to get or not it really depends on your needs/views/opinion...

With a lot of features that rivals (and is much more than) the already feature packed Peugeot 308THP which is priced at RM130+k plus the new Golf TSI has
- 7 air bags (safety wise, I think not many other brands at this price range can rival this)
- 7 speed (100km/h+ @ 2k rpm kinda blew me away)
- really really really smooth gear change
- gorgeous headlamps that moves / follows your steering wheel

Besides being almost silent (I thought I was driving some hybrid car), on 'D' the car won't really move much by itself (it will still move though but just a bit).. you just tap a bit and it moves.

The Pug 308 Turbo is RM113,888 BTW. I was seriously considering the Golf but at 160k it would stretch my budget to the max so I decided to go for the Pug instead. At least have some spare cash left for mods and upgrades laugh.gif

If you have the means to fund the Golf and enjoy spirited driving, you can't go wrong with this car rclxms.gif

very simple, if your car is problem free, you wouldnt open a thread saying how problem free your car is, amirite? because you expect the car to perform this way, however, when it starts to give you problem
you tend to look for the solution online by asking questions in the forum

and therefore you can only find problems in most car-specific forum tongue.gif
