Hey guys,

Im about to tell you a sad story. It broke my heart to pieces. Ive never been dis sad sad.gif

I was parking my car sumwhere taman melati near some housing area to visit a frens house. Since the parking there is like s$&t,have too park quite a distance from my frens house.

After around 2 hrs or so,went back to my car and found dat my left side of the door has significant damage on both side of the door. Paint scratches and kemek sum more. Very sad bcuz first time got hit n run. Only few days after my FIRST installment. Wtf???!!!!!

Anyway the question are:
1.should i send my car to vw sc to get it repaired or just go to some 'ketuk n cat' wshop to get it fixed. My concern is on the paint. Im not confident dat dey r going to hav the same colour. Also if possible,i dun wan to go to vw sc since i know dey will cost a bomb
2.if not vw sc,any suggestion on which a gud wshop dat i can go?

if i was u i will get quote for both vw and workshop outside. if the price doesnt differ much then can go back to vw. anyway vw also send to workshop outside to fix la. 3S center dont have spray one. so if price differ alot i will straight to workshop.
by the way my fren's a4 spray for a scratch at side skirt cost 2k cos he went back audi, which i think not worth at all. my 2cents.

Haha I just also had the same experience. Scratched my car against a pole, 3 panels scratched and dented. Not sending it in to VW as I know it will be expensive so sending it outside to get it fixed and sprayed tomorrow.

But yeah, darn sad man why I scratched it.

I just noticed a very annoying squeeking sound from my rear left suspension region when I press down with my palm on the board covering the spare tyre. Strangely, the noise is significantly less when the car is cold. Will try to bring it to the service centre tomorrow to have it checked out... hopefully their appointment is not too full.

At the SC now servicing my golf. btw The new replacement Silicone wiper for our Golf is rm95 per blade. so around rm190 for 1 front set. worth it or not ? or can source outside for better quality and cheaper ?

No reason to go back to VW SC for respray, they sub it out to paint shop anyways. Better to go to a paint shop u trust.

Painted my new Rear Valance for only Rm250 at my paintshop, and the colour matching is better then the original spoiler

1) Golf twincharge vs 308 turbocharge.. slight turbo lag in Pug.
2) 7 speed DSG vs Aisin (Japan made) 6 speed.. Golf 7 speed giv better fuel efficiency and dual clutch for smoother gear switching.
3) CBU from Wolfburg Germany vs CKD from Gurun.. Bolehland has poor assemble quality, and its from NAZA..
4) VW 5 year warranty unlimited miles vs Pug 3 years or 100k.
5) Longer service interval (VW 15k vs Pug 10k).
6) Golf better fuel efficiency than 308.
7) More desirable VW badge than Pug badge.
8) VW holds its value pretty well among conti cars.

Tested drive both the Golf Tsi and 308 Turbo (6-speed) on the same day. The 308 no fight la in terms of performance and handling. Somehow the Golf feels much more solid and faster than the 308.

Also heard there are a lot of complaints on the 308.

In terms of pricing they are a lot closer but in terms of car segments they are different. But personally the Polo has a better build quality but the power on the new 308 feels better.

unlikely considering the normal Golf Tsi is RM148,888k, 8k diffrence is too little between the polo gti(if it comes) to the Golf tsi....i would estimate 130+

I've not actually seen the Polo GTi, but in terms of the regular Polo vs the Golf TSI, the Golf offers much roomier interior. It is afterall, a bigger car. Can't comment on the Polo, but the golf's interior looks a lot better too.

I've heard that the Polo GTI will be in the region of RM130k. I doubt it would be close to RM140k; as jwrx has mentioned, it is too close to the ~RM150k golf 1.4 TSI (w/out the Light & Sound option).

That said, if VW does plan to remove the Light & Sound as a spec and make the higher spec ~RM160k Golf standard, then I wouldn't be very surprised if the Polo GTI hits RM140k...

but the polo gti has 20 extra hp and is lighter car than golf tsi. 0-100 in 6.9 secs is similar the GTI
nothing wrong if the pricing is close to TSI imo.

Do note that they are NO longer bringing in the Golf 1.4 TSI without the light and sound package. Probably to clear the price range for the upcoming Polo GTI maybe? Who knows...
