Please lah, the rcd 310 is not 'crappy' lah. It does very well what it's intended for, which is to play music.  doh.gif in that case, wat bout those in the Polo? sweat.gif I might be getting the RNS510 soon, but not because the standard system sucks. It's because I need gps and I don't want the attach the charger cable of my garmin all the time.
*
I stopped selling the rns because of too many complaints about the gps( which was last updated 2007), if u need gps, get a garmin, it will serve u alot better then the rns

Too many firmware issues, dodgy supply of rns etc, so I only do rcd510 now, alot esier and many happy users

Thanks for the quick feedback. Yeah I noticed there are more CW GTI around. Red color cars are somehow not my cup of tea except for Ferrari though.  tongue.gif
However at least CSG doesn't look that dirty after rain comparing to CW.
*
CW is the easiest to sell later on smile.gif black and cw is the most garang , just simple rims and kit and they look fantastic

Csg easiest to maintain but it tends to get lost in the crowd

anyone has any kind of satelite security system on their vw?what brand is recommanded?
*
IMO dont bother...the last 3 cases of GTI I know that was stolen, any satelite system would have been useless..

1 was carjacked at knifepoint outside sunway pyramid
2 were towed out of the condo by trucks/MPV with access card

in msia, if u have been marked, theres no stopping the bad guys

Its already been more or less confirmed that the CKD models will be

- Normal Passat
- Jetta
- Polo (diffrent variant from the 1.2 currently being sold)

VW malaysia is protecting the current buyers of VW in malaysia, they dont want situation like the Inspira/Lancer fiasco, where alot of ppl cancel bookings to wait for CKD

The roc is only made in a single location for the entire world, GTI's are only made in 2, theres probably a reason VW wants to keep it that way, probably due to thier existing supply and logistic structure

The malaysian market, even if VW sales were to quadruple with CKD is nothing but a pin drop to overall VAG group sales

better resale vale? how much better can it get? VW GTI's already have one of the best RV in the market, I bought mine for 172k, sold it for 167k after 60k km

The whole point of CKD is to increase local content, the higher the local content, the lower the transfer price of the CKD pack from VW

no harm with changing to K&N, just make sure u buy the cleaning kit and clean every 10-12k km, and if u want to be ultra safe, remove b4 u go in for service at VW

u will feel slightly faster pick up, and hear slightly more induction sound, other then that..its mostly in your head biggrin.gif

Hi,

Are you sure that cheap? Do you know where to get it? Please post it here. Thanks
*
just have to keep a look out on the local forums and tire shops. its almost worthless, cos hundreds if GTI owners change thier stock rims. The only use is for ppl who want to track or ppl who damged thier stock rims and need replacement.

Think mavik got his set for under 800 even. I have seen as low as Rm500 for a set but i guess now with demand increasing from all the new 1.4 owners..price would start going up

Wah, so worthless one ah? Might as well keep them as spare rims than selling them. Wat about those 18 inches rims we see on the ads? Are they just as cheaply available?
*
when you have 4 rims+tires sitting in your house for 7 months and your wife nagging u to clear them..rm500 also u will sell.

The 18's with black sides are called Detroit, rarer and more ex

Pls b kful even install bodykit. here is my story, my father own the vw eos and the chrome grill got cracked after few months he get his car but vw refuse to warranty the part due to my father caracter bodykit. so my conclusion Pls dun modify vw car, it is really hard to claim warranty but no doubt vw car really nice to drive.
*
VW has to give a valid reason for denial of warranty. Or you can take them to consumer tribunal or complain directly to VGM. DId they explain how instllation of a kit caused the grill to crack?

but to be honest, i doubt u can claim warranty for a crack grill, the service centre just gave a off hand excuse "of u cant claim cos u mod" cos they lazy to explain

you would be suprised some of the nonsense the VW SC tells customers, the only way u can be sure is to look at your chassis number to confirm production location, VW never promised its customers that all thier cars would come from Germany...thats just what ppl "think"

thats exactly what im getting...which is crap FC, since my GTI stage 2 could get 500+ with the same tank size. Im hoping its the engine still very new and tight and will improve once its loosen up

check the 11th digit of your chassis number, W is wolfsburg...SA is 9 if i remember correctly..i got check later

SA is nearer, cos it comes by ship, its a direct route to port klang, from germany, u have to go overland first

Actually the only way to be sure is to check chassis number, AFAIK your AP doc just states the exporter's location, not the production location, anyway, it doesnt make a difference, no one really cares and the build quality is the same
