thanks for the info. I did not know that as well.
this is my first continental car .

I have a quick question in regard of the auto lock.
i found out if any of the door is open from the car, the other 3 doors will be
unlocked too.

anyone know how to de-active this?
i remember the first few weeks i got the car , if one of the passenger door is open from inside, other door will remain unlock n i found it is safer in that way.

thx

My first continental car too, although I did drive a '69 Mini Cooper for awhile, but it was my brother's, and it sure as hell didn't have a remote control or motorized windows!

I think you meant the other doors will remain locked.

Mine does that too, I tried pressing and holding the lock button on the remote while sitting in the car, as suggested by jwrx, but all it seems to do is to lock the door and activate the alarm (red light blinking). Care to elaborate a little?

Thanks!

you're like my dad, don't care much other small stuffs and don't like modifications, all that matters is how it drives laugh.gif

Some of you probably know this already, but I stumbled upon this by accident.  Unlock the doors with your remote key, then press and hold the unlock button for several seconds.  All the windows will wind down simultaneously.  To close, just press the lock button to lock the doors, release, then press and hold the lock button again and the windows will wind up.  I think this feature is available on most VWs and Audis.

only the passenger's door will be unlocked, right? if he opened twice
the rest will still be locked unless driver presses the unlock button

aha...correction..not only conti cars has this feature.

My wife's Mazda 3 has this feature as well..

I am sad liao. Looks like I can't get the 1.4 TSi before CNY. Cergaz just informed me no more black. Got red and shark blue. My missus dont approve both colours. Looks like I have to wait for the 2011 car and miss out on the 1.38% int rate special offer by Affin.

Damn it!!

stick with the OEM 17's, they are tough and solid. OZ ultras are lightweight and look good but very fragile. easily dented and dmged on our lousy roads. My 17" Denvers lasted me 2 years with no issues, just 8 months with my 18" OZ and all 4 were dented

You can ask your dealer for the MDI cable for the iPod which is pricey or you can nego to get it for free. Otherwise look up eBay. I got mine from there. 18" rims means expensive tyres but the Golf definitely looks sexy with 18" on.
