Taken from My-FJC forum.. enjoy:

Jerseyman's Review: 2011-2013 England Home Jersey

The title suggests that the jersey will be worn from 2011 till 2013.. I just followed blatantly from what was said in footballshirtculture.com regarding the new England kit (http://www.footballshirtculture.com/11/12-kits/england-11-13-umbro-home-kit-update.html). but wait a sec... it was available in 2010. And fresh after England's awful performance in World Cup 2010.............

Nevermind.

Anyway here's the promo of the new england home kit that was launched too early for most people's liking (maybe to ease the pain of seeing England in the world cup):

England's new 2011-2013 Home Kit... launched and available in 2010

So I grabbed one from kitbag using the free hero printing and added ROONEY 10 (bad timing).. So my item arrived safely at my house:

I like the new england home jersey's collar design.. rugby like design.... and there is something new about this jersey....

user posted image
The England FA with the 1 star crest..

user posted image
For the first time... the star above the England FA crest is not embroidered, but felt printed

The 1 star (as a mark of respect to the 1966 World Cup Heroes) is not embroidered but instead felt printed...

Now... even before I bought this shirt... there is one thing that annoys me the most...

user posted image
This is the part that annoyed me the most.. The multi coloured St George patterns on the upper part of the jersey

Yes, I know this is the brainchild of a designer called Peter Saville.. Yes I know what the concept was (multiculturalism).. But the idea doesn't work to me. Why?

user posted image
Why does it annoy me (the St George Pattern)? See the similarity?

Sorry but I rather prefer a clean pattern.. not this one.

To be continued..

Continued..

What I like about the namesets used for this jersey (2 toned blue coloured).. is that it reminds me of the England's Euro 96 Home Shirt..

user posted image
The back number.. Reminiscences of England's 2 toned blue nameset and numbering used in England's Euro 96 Home Shirt

user posted image
ROONEY printed on top of that annoying part of the jersey...

Another thing that I like and was relieved was that the sleeves were no longer 100% spandex like England's away shirt used during World Cup 2010. Not only did umbro made the sleeves similar like England's previous home kit (2008-2010) where the spandex area was on the bottom of the sleeves, but there were some strategic areas where the spandex material was stitched too.. near the shoulders.. running from the shoulders down to the sides:

user posted image
The sleeves are no longer 100% spandex (like the England World Cup 2010 away).. But it's placed nicely below the sleeves and on the side near the shoulders..

user posted image
The sides of the jersey has the same spandex material... improves stretchiness..

user posted image
The spandex layer beneath the sleeves...

user posted image
The middle part of the chest (collars) too uses the same spandex material..

Inside the jersey.. at the washing tag:

Made in Indonesia

Body: 80% Polyester, 20% Cotton, Trim: 86% Polyester, 14% Spandex, Trim: 100% Polyester

Continued..

a. What Jerseyman Likes:
user posted image The sleeves are not all spandex like England Away World Cup 2010.. I hated it.. not comfy especially near the armpits
user posted image The 2 tone blue coloured nameset
user posted image The rugby styled collars..

a. What Jerseyman Dislikes:
user posted image That St George patterns on the top of the shirt... good concept but is not suited for this

Design: user posted image (If only that they didn't buy Peter Saville's idea)
Material: user posted image (Very nice.. old skool.. comfy, the spandex material was placed correctly this time)
Cutting: user posted image (Thanks to the sides that uses the spandex material..it won't be that tight)
Comfortness: user posted image (As comfy as England's previous home shirt.. not bad like the England Away 2010)
Overall: user posted image

While you in London, checkout for shop called sports direct.. You can get England jersey for as low as 5GBP. I got my England away 2010 with NNs for only 9GBP. But i think they limits you for 3 pieces only...not sure what's the reason behind it smile.gif England jersey is always a bargain there except the latest Home jersey. Those new season jerseys will still cost you around 35GBP to 40GBP..

Wow..........now they also copied and make women, retro jerseys , NN ,patches, and came with Nike, Adidas plastic bags. Maybe now they have a giant HQ factory hidden somewhere in an unknown location.Huhu. But....... nowadays the fake jerseys maybe look more and more the same wit the original ones, but I still think there is no way in the world they can copy durability and comfiness of original jerseys with cheap, low quality glues, dyes and other cheap materials. They just can't
