Does anyone know if there's any promotion currently going on in Klang Valley whereby I can trade in my Sony 34" CRT for LCD TV? I figure since LED LCD is pretty impressive these days and thought I might save on electricity bill on long run, why not change to LCD.
Any link would be helpful. Thanks.

Have not seen any trade in offers for crt tv. You can either sell it via garage sale or send to Cash Converter but the value is not high.

Sorry to say, the world of CRT is dead, and you will not get a good price for it anywhere...at most if its in good condition and pretty high spec, can sell it off at RM500, some ppl get only half...or simply give it away. But if you are thinking of saving electricity bills just to get the LEDLCD, that one is not an excuse. Cause once you play with LEDLCD, you tend to upgrade other stuff as well in the future. Your AVR, speakers, media player will be the the firsts to be upgraded. No point getting an expensive HDTV and watch only ASTRO with it...you surely want the best entertainment.

Not an insult but You'll be lucky if your new LCD seller is willing to cart away your CRT of that size and weight for free. No shop (even repair shop) would have space for this monster. Even you want to donate it to community centers, etc. a normal saloon car may not be able to load it. I have paying a TV repair shop to remove my old Panasonic 34" CRT...........
