My suggestion:

take your breakfast at 6-7 a.m as that's the time when your digestion work the most, take some light foods with very low carbo, instead try to get some caffeine. The reason why is because we don't need carbo at the early morning since you don't really work hard during that time. You need to focus more instead so take some caffeine or a little bit of sugar will do.

Suggestion for breakfast:
1. Salad, fruits or bread. (best to take with oat bread)
2. Coffee or Milo.

now we move to lunch, during afternoon, that's the time when we need more energy as due to daily works. Working, walking etc etc. This is the time you need more carbo to support your body or to boost your energy yet the intake must be carefully done. This is also another well preparation for your workouts (gym, or sports activities) as carbo will only be digested and transformed to energy after 1 to 2 hours intake.

Suggestion for lunch:
1. Small portion of rice (try not to eat noodle as they are oily)
2. Fiber foods.(so you will feel full)
3. Take juice without sugar instead of plan water. (especially orange or green apple, they are very good for digestion and nutritious as they consist of good acidic ingredients)

dinner when it's night time and resting time. We don't eat that much during this time as we don't really move our body thus burning of the calories are lower unless opposite.

Suggestion for dinner:
1. Fiber loads, fruits, vegetables.
2. plain water.

Tips:
be disciplined! and one more thing, do not think eating vegetarian foods are good and can diet. This is due to the foods other than the vegetables, all of them are fried and contains a lot of flour and of course, the rice too. lastly, hit the gym and do workout thus metabolism rate become higher means fats burning even faster. Good luck!

Not my cup of tea mate, very unbalanced IMO. No protein, and u dont wanna train your body to be dependent on caffein to keep yourself focused. Dont really see how its gonna help u loose FAT other than the low carbo intake

Here's my suggestion, something that COULD be easily followed by most of us without drastically changing our eatin habits.

Breakfast
Wholemeal bread(green packet gardenia, very easy to find)
2 half boiled eggs, very easy to prepare if u bother trying
Canned tuna (I personally go for ayam brand, specifically the ones with high omega3 and spring water), and DONT buy the tuna mayo or chilli/curry ones
LOW FAT/SUGAR peanut butter. If some of u cant live without jam, I suggest the Steffies brand or those NATURAL fruit spreads(look at the ingredients, make sure no artificial sugar or preservatives added)
U can survive without butter or margerine, so AVOID IT!!
Some fruits, preferabally an apple or a banana
A glass of LOW FAT milk
Coffee IF u MUST, reduce your sugar use and stop using evaporated/condensed milk
Stuff that we usually take and SHOULD avoid for breakfast - kuih-kuih, rice/noodles, roti canai, fried hawker food, fried chicken/fish/egg, teh tarik even if its kurang manis
Im updating this list while listening to lectures, sorry if I take a while

Can replace oatmeal to oat bread?hehe!
really cant accept oat meal taste -.-

that means must eat a small portion in morning so that body can burn calories?
if didn't eat anything at all?body will not burn any calories? rclxub.gif

If you eat 5-6 small meals per day as opposed to the typical 2 or 3 meals per day, you are increasing your calorie expenditure simply by increasing your meal frequency. Eating 5-6 small meals per day means eating approximately every 3 waking hours throughout the day. It is important to note that you should never skip breakfast. You should eat first thing when you wake up in the morning to get your metabolism revved up again. If you go the entire morning without eating like many people do, your metabolism is running much slower than it should, and you’re also putting yourself in a catabolic situation where your body will be breaking down muscle tissue for energy and to supply amino acids for other essential bodily functions.

Lunch
SMALL PORTIONS of rice or noodles. I personally prefer alternate sources for my carbo intake, such as chapatti, naan or kuey teow/bihun(which fyi has the LOWEST fat content and calorific value compared to other noodles) and I make sure mine is not fried. I go for fish bihun sometimes, the aunty that makes it for of doesnt use msg or a lot of salt and I usually ask for more green veggies.
Steam/grilled/baked chicken or fish. I use olive oil instead of normal cooking oil, but I only use very very small amounts, just to make sure the meat doesnt quick to the pan/oven tray.
Veggies cooked in the similar manner.
A SMALL piece of dark chocolate(2 small squares) as a reward.
Plain water/chinese tea.
Some cashews or almonds, not sweetened or salted.
A packet of papaya cut into tiny cubes

Added on October 11, 2010, 10:22 amHaha, Max, another Mike Geary follower, high5 mate!
Now for dinner..
Some very light carbo, your meat source for protein and veggies wont do u any harm, so take a little and stop being choosey
Whatever I've suggested is for the normal joe trying to start eating healthy, and for people who cannot afford or dont hv the time to eat 5-6 small meals a day.
I for one follow my strict 5 meals a day eating habit, and MAKE TIME for workouts without giving myself excuses. Also, I've recently started taking Nitrotech Hardcore ProSeries for the extra oomph and muscle recovery after workouts. In an environment where I need to do loads of studying for the coming month, it has been helping me so far. Oh, and make sure u get ENOUGH SLEEP every night, a thing that many people take very lightly.
Some simple rules of thumb - If u dont need it, dont eat it.
If u cant discipline yourself and constantly make excuses, you're only gonna disappoint yourself, and no one else.
And drink loads of water people, whoever says drinking water is bad for u is talking pure BS, so its up to u to follow if u wanna..
Cheers mates, time for Principles of Flight lecture, need to focus!!

When I was starting off, I myself went like 3-4 times a week max. U see, the idea of eating 5 small meals is so that your body has enough time to digest the food and absorb the nutrients as the day goes by. Its not gonna help in any way if u hantam 5 normal portion meals a day..lol
What do u do at the gym when u go those 2-3 times? And which gym?

Sorry at first cause i din know that all of you are talking about gym, anyway, i play gym too and i have been slimming down 7kg so far after 1 and the half month by doing that, lacking of protein is my fault as i took Lipotropic protein and i seriously didnt notice this is a gym thread, my bad, if i know i would have change the recipe. Anyway, my trainner suggest me to take red meat after gym, high value of protein.
