QUOTE(OrangeySteve @ Apr 8 2011, 12:04 AM) i heard that workout b4 slp will cause difficulty in sleep -> insomnia... if is true then it is a very bad idea... Different people have different biological clocks, no? Try it out for yourself, if you feel too tired and can't sleep properly, don't do it. If no problem, then no harm continuing right? |

QUOTE(wuwah @ May 20 2011, 02:46 PM) hello.. may i know best way for reducing buttock size? been work out for 3 months d,satisfied with my loss in tummy and upper back area. but quite dissappoint with my lower part, especially buttocks. I don't see how saving RM 3-4 a day would hurt. Normal bodybuilding/shophouse gyms are not that expensive when it comes to monthly memberships. Heck I started when I was in college, but I disciplined myself to save up!! Its all what u want in the long run. You wanna see FAST results, then sacrifice a bit bro. Remember, more muscle + proper rest + healthy diet = good FAT loss!btw,i just do lots of cardio(can't afford for any gym membership for now, studying).eating habit, morning=out,lunch=rice+non-oily 'lauk'+lots of vege, night=either oat or not eat. QUOTE(Ivangile @ May 20 2011, 07:30 PM) Hey, I lose weight 12kg ++ for the first month, then I stopped for 1 month, now I start again(1 week ald). My average 1 day lose about 300-500gram now, is it healthy? Depends on 2 things. Firstly, HOW did u loose the weight. Secondly, you will loose weight fast in the first month or so of training, assuming you're doing it the correct way. You'll be loosing less and less per month as time goes by, but don't let that stop you.Note: Diet + Slight Exercise, I am extremely obese, from 3 digits to 2 digits now Edit: By healthy, I mean is it healthy to lose that much? I heard lose 0.5-1kg a week is healthy.... So, is it the same for my case? QUOTE(Ivangile @ May 21 2011, 11:25 AM) TQ, by the way, IS hula hoop a good exercise? I heard my friend said it will make my waist even bigger because it will stimulate oblique muscle, and some say will lose love handle... I am so confused. Ok, you seem to hear a lot of things from a lot of your friends. My suggestion, GOOGLE some stuff up, do some basic research and go through this thread at least. Hula hooping doesn't necessarily burn fat from your love handles!! Spot training doesn't work for burning fat. For example, just because you do 10000000000 sit ups a day, it doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna have 6 pack abs in a month. Yes, your muscles in that are will be stimulated, but the fat being burned doesn't necessarily have to be from the waist. The human body doesn't work that way.Edit : One more question, is it not good to do the same cardio everyday, I heard that our body will use to it and burn less calories, any1 can clarify on these ? I'm no pro, not a fitness instructor and don't have a degree in sports science. But what I do have is experience in loosing fat, and trust me, it was hard at first, but once I made it a daily routine, its bloody easy yo!! haha |

Yup. Vary your cardio exercises if you're the type of person who gets bored easily and can't stay with the same routine over a shot period of time. Skipping, swimming, jogging, sprinting, rowing, boxing/kickboxing a sandbag just to list a few. Don't forget to include squats, deadlifts and a little bit of resistance training in your workouts.
Been a while static, how've you been mate? |

QUOTE(statikinetic @ May 24 2011, 12:47 AM) Life's been busy, enforced absence from the gym for over a month. It sucks to be struggling at 75% of what you used to lift! Good thing about regular gymming though is that though you stop for a couple of months, your physique doesn't change that much so I'm counting my blessings. True that mate, at least a couple of weeks of slacking due to workload won't make much of a difference to our current physiques. Haha, damn, so u saw the progress pics eh? Great to see you still fielding the questions here and judging from your progress pic on another thread, you haven't been slacking off eh? I'm giving a gym bro some support at the upcoming Mr KL. Trained with him using his poundages and I'm totally wiped out haha. Heading to Kuala Terengganu next month for 5 full weeks of heavy crosswind flying, now that's gonna be fun flying manual planes against the weather. Luckily I've been working on those reverse barbells and hammer curls, and squats/lunges Gonna have a blast working those rudder pedals and control stick Anyway, any good MRP suggestions man? Oh, and good luck with the competition! |

Zero carb intake is A HUGE NO NO!! Your body still requires carbs to function. Cutting down on carbs is alright, but totally subtracting it from your diet is one of the dumbest things you can do. Cheers

QUOTE(statikinetic @ May 24 2011, 09:54 PM) Sorry bro, I haven't experimented any with MRPs. I use protein blends and a packed sandwich as a 'on the go' meal. Carbs, protein, vitamins and minerals covered...so I've been sticking with it a while. Ain't me participating in it, I'm there for moral support haha. A lot of dedication put in by the bruthas in the gym. They're so lean now they've got veins popping everywhere. Hahahaha, moral support, I know how it feels mate. Reminiscing the times when I used to follow my former gym bros back in JB for competitions, just for moral support! |

QUOTE(tempted @ Jun 1 2011, 06:09 PM) hi guys, need some advice here You can workout 7 times a week if u wanna, but if you're not gonna control what you're putting INTO your body, don't expect to see FAST results. Exercise alone doesn't make u loose fat, in the long run, yes, but if you want fast results and you wanna do it properly, PLAN YOUR DIET FIRST.my goal is to lost weight as fast as possible. i workout around 6 times per week should i do cardio everyday or alternate weight training with cardio to achieve best and fastest result? Alternate cardio and weights.. |

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jun 9 2011, 12:37 PM) You have a personal trainer, what is he/she for if you can't ask for nutritional advice and if the PT doesn't know or isn't able/willing to share nutritional tips apart from the obligatory "PROTEIN SHAKE/HYDROXYCUT," go change trainers. Seriously, a PT who tells you to take fat burners from the beginning just shows how much knowledge he has on nutrition and fitness QUOTE(flow3r @ Jun 9 2011, 01:33 PM) geez, I've got it all wrong it seem. I thot that is cutting down Seriously, u need to look for another personal trainer. Loads of them out there who are honest and have YEARS of experience but just never had the chance to market themselves. I'd suggest u go find one Kasey Brown, a fellow contributing forummer here. He knows his stuff, and yes, he'll make sure you do it PROPERLY! glad i shared with you of what i did, here I'm thinking this is the way to go. now need to stock up my fidge so that all the things is available. as for PT, i just hv her for 12 session. So to her all the $$$ only, and most probably just good in advising workout to achieve my targeted area. But come to think of it, I saw her doing the same sort of exercise for a person much slimmer than me. |

As my PT session is going to be over soon (anthr 3 session left). On one hand, she help me increase by strength a bit coming from a person who did not exercise before all her life but reaching 42 only realised that she got to change her life if she wanted to see another 10 yrs. |

QUOTE(Sarah Angelina @ Jun 16 2011, 08:34 PM) How's your progress so far? So sorry that I haven't been going through the thread here. Well I'm still maintaining at 83kg, which IMO is just nice for me considering I'm above 6 feet height wise. Focusing more on cutting now for the next 2 months coz I've been bulking for the past just increasing the weights as I progress!! Hahaha Anyway, so far my progress is quite good, lost 15kgs in about 4 months time, then now tones up my muscles |
