waxing is fine
but make sure it is only wax
cos some was are wax+cleaner or wax+polish, meaning there are some cleaning/rubbing/abrasive compound in it and you would want to avoid those
but like most saiy, just leave it for a month or so first, your car would come with some wax layer, just see how water beads and run off
