This ArctiClean thermal interface material remover works like a charm. Bought it from .1.'s bulk. Very recommended for removing stubborn thermal conducting material like those found on stock OEM heatsink.

I just cleaned the thermal paste/material off from my stock Sempron heatsink. The material should be a bit hard to clean by using normal alcohol, but using ArctiClean, no problem at all. Just put a few drops, then wipe the goo off with an ease just like that.

* Note that the thermal interface material used was not paste type, but some kind of sticky rubber type.

1. A few droplets of ArctiClean Thermal Material Remover (1) was dropped on to the thermal interface material surface of the heatsink. After waiting for around 30 secs, the thermal interface material was wiped off using a tissue paper.

2. A few droplets of ArctiClean Thermal Surface Purifier (2) was dropped on the surface and the surface was wiped thoroughly using a tissue paper. Not even a tiny bit of stain left.

3. Thanks to .1. for bringing in this wonderful item. thumbup.gif

Sadly I didn't do any head-to-head comparison. I was just cleaning the heatsink and suddenly thinking of taking some pics. sweat.gif

But honestly, I've tried to clean this kind of thing by using video tape cleaner alcohol and it doesn't do that well. Unfortunately I had to scrap that thing off using dish washing sponge, but still some residue remained. Dunno about other guys' experience....

i bought a small bottle of "Swan Alcohol" for RM2.70 and it cleans off AS5 from the bottom of my XP90 quite easily. dabbed a cotton bud in the bottle and just wiped off the AS5. evaporates by itself.

AS5 is easy to clean, no doubt about that. I only use the video tape cleaner to remove it.

I have bought the Artic Clean set cleaning solution... Kinda good... The 1st bottle helps to clean and remove thermal paste.... Shine the copper part too without sanding it. 2nd Bottle was meant to have a clean and protection before applying AS5 on it....

Result, cant reallty justify it at all....
