QUOTE(cannavaro @ Aug 14 2011, 05:42 PM) Don't know about other brands, but the latest OCZ Toolbox allows you to update even if it's a bootdrive. edit: Actually not the latest toolbox. It was ALREADY doable in version 2.31. Latest one is 2.39 um? i tot it says "If the SSD that needs updating is running the OS , you cannot use the Toolbox" source: http://goo.gl/bG6dNa forumer in the source link, says i can isntall the linux tool onto a usb.yay!! crucial for those using laptops i was thinking about isntallng a win7 onto a usb thumbdrive, like a Live cd/usb windows, n update from there, no need to take out the lappy. im so satisfied w my agility 3 + stock hdd combo. i simply removed the optical drive thaat i wud nvr use. im hoping that my config, is on par or better w synapse. UPDATE : using bootracer, i got 13secs to logon, n 36 sec to desktop. lost to synapse. This post has been edited by notroxcity: Nov 17 2011, 04:30 PM

QUOTE(Ulysses @ Nov 17 2011, 09:39 PM) regardless of thailand flood, wnt to ask..whats the best SSD now for money? (i mean, the same as F3 for HDD) i personally wu d recommend 60GB agility 3 w 2.15 firmware. can get one around RM389 a pop. fortunately, prior to firmware 2.15, i didnt have freezing or BSOD. i guess, it was luck.

QUOTE(dtdw @ Nov 18 2011, 10:45 AM) 13 to logon and 36 to desktop is kinda long dont u think ? even my intel g3 which i assume is slower than agility, is shorter than that . u need to check your settings again. i doubt the synapse is faster than a dedicated ssd with boot. but the site's result is rather surprising. yeah that's what i was thinking also. as long as the software and firmware keeps alive, things should go well. but if they stop support then too bad. very risky. And the fact that they could have made the software usable with the current ssd but they dont want .. kinda like cheating people's money yeah...thats y... 13secs...i saw on the itnernet, every1 was getting like 9secs...the fastest i got was 12 secs. :| . but i dont think its becoz of the handful of startup items since we're talkign about an SSD some more. ive done services tweak, startup tweak, boot config tweaks, ssd tweaker, n thats it. 13secs to logon. any other recommendations? i even disable hardwares i dont use like, bluetooth, webcam, LAN port etc

QUOTE(dtdw @ Nov 21 2011, 11:56 AM) sigh .. boot drive only .. and i tot i can gain some bit of perf on a secondary drive whilst retaining an actual ssd for boot. all in all i see a failure product. but for laptop with 2 bays, then this will probly work better. n in my case, simply remove my optical drive.
