Are Intel SSD drives any good?

If I do raid for SSD would it increase performance by a lot?

I am looking for a decent SSD.

My budget is about RM1,000. I am ok if it exceeds the budget by RM100 to Rm200.

Definitely looking for 2.5 inch type ones.

Thanks.

Intel 510 series, 120gb is RM899.

Mushkin Chronos DLX 120gb is RM949

OCZ Agility 3 120gb is RM899

According to C-Zone's price list.

Is Mushkin any good?

I think it's EOL already but they still giving support for it.

320 series was released to brush up X25M G2 series

So far the 320 Series only 1 reported case, I don't think should worry about it.

Yet the old SandForce controller giving a lot problem a lot people still go for it haha  laugh.gif
depends on the controller, the new SF controller should not a big problem nowaday,
not the previous generation  laugh.gif

Those above are using the new Sandforce controller?

Is there any maintenance I am supposed to do for my SSD?

For instance, like defraging my regular HDD.

Anybody tried installing Crysis 2 on SSD?

I probably do it tonight pending my download from EA's Origins.

Crap, I installed Crysis 2 in my regular HDD instead of SSD.

Still pretty fast after putting Windows 7 in SSD.

Must have cost you over a thousand ringgit. How is the performance from what I watched at youtube. It's dramatically and noticeably fast! The Intel Videos
*
Nope, it cost around RM880 or so.

My first time using SSD.

Price is reasonable:) Do you experience huge difference?
*
Huge difference compared to my regular HDD.

Especially with boot up and shut down.

Windows 7 feels more responsive.

My 120gb SSD is almost running out of space, about 10gb left.

What should I move to my other hard drive without disrupting Windows?

Thanks.

my ssd is having read problems now, OS able to detect it but unable to access the contents

any suggestions how to fix this issue myself??

Check with HDD Tune (free progam)

It may give you some inside what is wrong with the drive.
