QUOTE(everling @ Mar 8 2011, 05:02 PM) It's good enough. so i shouldnt buy it now? Take a look at the following graphs: ![]() It may have slower raw write speeds, but for the "average" workload, it has more than good enough performance. The only downside is that the Intel G3 is coming out in the next few months. It is hoped that their cost/GB is even lower and they will have somewhat better performance than the G2. Read/write: G2's 250/100 vs G3's 250/170. They'll lose to current generation performance SSDs which can hit past 500MB/s, but if Intel can drive their prices down, their G3s can still be made into bargain buys for 80% of the market. |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Apr 26 2011, 01:43 AM) If you're fine with the fact that the warranty is short then yes,it's worth it.The write speeds may be slow but the read speeds are not to shabby even when compared to 2011 SSDs.The capacity is also large Write speed may be slow?i dont really mind about the warranty since its durable ..i hope so lol. |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Apr 26 2011, 02:08 AM) Reliability is a strong suit of Intel SSDs,I wouldn't worry too much about it.About the write speeds, these SSDs can only do around 100MB/s of sequential and random writes, definitely not blistering fast. hmm..lets say if i have the budget of 400 to 500 for a ssd, what is the best i can get? regardless of its OEM or not.. |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Apr 27 2011, 01:29 AM) Yeah, the X-18M G2 160GB.The difference is like night and day.The PC only takes less than 40s from when I press the power button to a usable desktop.FF4 only takes 2s compared to around 6s for a standard desktop 7200RPM HDD.MS Word 2010 takes 2s from the usual 8s.I can go on and on but you ge the idea, right? It's fast.My usage model favour reads over writes so I'm not affected by the slowness of the G2's write speeds. hm...what do the WRITE speed means? :S 40s ? i heard its like 10 seconds wuu :S |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Apr 27 2011, 01:36 AM) 10s from the moment you press the power button to a usable desktop is impossible. oh , but overall is a worthy upgrade? cause if its good i will do itThe PC that i'm using,it needs around 10-15s to POST,then 25s to BOOT. Write is when you install something or copy something over to the SSD.Windows installation time certainly improved, but not by much.IINM it went from 35m to 25m or so. |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Apr 28 2011, 12:34 AM) I'd say C300 128GB is the best SSD in the market atm. but...rm730 is too much for me thou ><"4K Random Read is the most important thing for 97% of users, primarily at QD1. The C300 is still the fastest at 4K reads from QD 1 to 4 and it stands its ground with 4K writes as well, even beats out the newer M4. [attachmentid=2182448] If u could find it at cheap price, it is a good buy dude is MUSHKIN CALLISTO DELUXE SSD (285/275 Mb/s Read/Write) 90GB for RM600 good? Added on April 28, 2011, 3:19 ambro owikh , do u still have x25m OEM unit for sale? This post has been edited by kahjye: Apr 28 2011, 03:19 AM |

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Apr 28 2011, 06:45 AM) Up to u. I don't see topping up RM130 is a huge difference when it is a good investment. okay...i really think that i must grab that den lol..No idea on Mushkin but no harm to give it a try and share with us unfortunately I've closed my successful OEM SSD sales with a total of nearly 200pcs sold 101pcs of X25, 94pcs of X18 160GB |
