I have a question, got a new Corsair Force F60 but wanting to update its firmware to 2.0. With nothing inside the SSD (still smells like the shop), I need to install the OS first then update right? Or is there another way of doing so without adding anything to it.

I think it's a pretty stupid question hahaha.

plug it into a pc that has windows.. then install the updating software and update it ?

then clone over the windows and set the bios boot device correctly and good to go

Actually, that was what I am going to try after work. rclxms.gif

I'm not going to clone Windows to it though, as I'm using this drive for a new laptop.

Thanks!

if u're giving choice to chose what would u choose:

ocz vertex 2
intel x25M

People normally go for the Intel X25-M, most reliable one. High usage users go for Vertex 2

I updated mine F60 to firmware 2.0. It was pretty easy.
IIRC it got be in version 1.1 first before the upgrade to firmware 2.0.

Tho Corsair says there is a risk of losing the data after firmware upgrade, my data was intact after upgrade.
Happy trying. Hope that helps.

Losing data doesn't matter much to me since the SSD will be installed on a new laptop.

But thanks for the heads up on the 1.1 to 2.0 tip!
