OEM key is tagged to your hardware (not the hdd). smile.gif
I can assure you that the fresh win7 will be activated on your Dell laptop (upon installation, with the Dell supplied OEM key).

Roger. But I checked, there is no update for my 90GB lol. Tried to install OS yesterday night, BSODed but BIOS did not detect my SSD. Will double check tonight, must be I did not plug the cables in properly due to tiredness.

Latest FW is 1.3. FW can be updated on non-OS drive.
What mobo are you running now?

Halo boss,

Hmm.. Okay then. Coz I did a search for the 90GB Force 3. Cannot even find the ver1.3 for it lol, can't just simply use other models one right?
*
90GB is a stripped down of a 120GB. Serial 1143-XXX comes with FW1.3.

Planning to get a SSD for OS and apps. MB supports sata III 6.0, so thinking of either Vertex 3 or Intel 510 series 120gb. Is there a significant difference in performance between sata II(3.0) and III(6.0) in real experience? If not much different might opt for sata II instead. Need advice here. Thanks.

Sata 3 ssd is more snappy. I came from Sata 2 to Sata 3 sata.

If you are looking for sata 3. Stick to Intel 510 or Crucial M4. Both are Marvell controllers. Crucial makes the SSD for intel IIRC.

Vertex 3 is rated TOP SSD among Corsair Force 3 120GB, Crucial M4 256GB, Intel 510 120GB, OCZ Agility 3 240GB, OCZ Vertex 3 240GB

To the contrary, I have not had much problem with sandforce.
Perhaps I am from different camp.

My first ssd was Crucial C300 128GB tho. I have been using sandforce ssd ever since.

Swapped Corsair Force 3 with Vertex 3 this morning.
Updated firmware for both.
Corsair in FW 1.32 and Vertex 3 in FW 2.13.
Cloned the OS ssd in less than 10 minutes.

Did data loss ever really happen to ssd in real life (tho there is a chance)? I hardly heard of it.
