data loss can happen eve to ssd. best chance is to back up your data regularly. but if u looking for reliability in ssd for sata 3 i wud suggest crucial m4

Did data loss ever really happen to ssd in real life (tho there is a chance)? I hardly heard of it.

Rather expensive lesson (or just RM60, I suppose)... Mini-PCIe is not mSATA... even though it's the exact same pin/form factor.

mSATA SDD..... and 2.5" SATA SDD.... later being cheaper....

Both have very similar physical connectors and form factor, but different electronically.

QUOTE(everling @ Dec 27 2011, 02:26 PM)
Going by the age alone (the laptop has a review in 2007), it has only SATA 3.0Gbps and not SATA 6.0Gbps (introduced in 2009).

Please keep in mind that SSD-to-SSD return on investment is much smaller than HDD-to-SSD. Thus if your X25-M is a 120GB SSD or your primary reason for a new SSD is performance, it will not be worth it. If you're using the 80GB edition and need more capacity, then any cheap and decent 120GB SSD will do just fine. Like Intel's 120GB (reliability) or OCZ's Agility 3 120GB (performance).
What about OCZ's Agility 3 120GB?

Here's a performance review: http://www.anandtech.com/print/4421

Unfortunately the Intel 320 120GB isn't benchmarked in that review.

There is always a chance for data loss nothing is 100% safe and secure. There is always a chance of hardware (electronic circuitry failure) between SSD. Don't forget the read+write wear and tear cycle so even the best SSDs will fail one day, just for a likely long time to come.

If any company ever tried claim their storage devices will last an enternity. Then that company is simple BS you.....nuff said.

i have Asus P5NE-SLI... sata 3 gbps should be sata 2 right?
i plan to buy OCZ Agility 3 after reading this thread.

so meaning i will get to use my SATA 2 port to full potential right?
is this slightly faster than using a SATA 2 SSD?

better get sata 2 ssd. no point using sata 3 ssd on sata 2 port coz it will limit to sata 2 only, unless u have plans to upgrade.

Anybody here need/want 2.5" to 3.5" mount?
Full aluminum, able to fit 4 units 2.5", occupied 2 x 3.5" slot.
Price range should be near RM50.
If the response is good I might open one bulk or two, as myself also need 1.
