I got a Macbook Air lately running on SSD, the speed is really incredible.. Boot up time, program boot up etc.. everything felts so . great..
Now tempted to upgrade my desktops into SSD too lol..
I guess when buying a SSD
Reliability>Capacity>Speed
My MBA SSD runs at around 260mbps only (Online test result) yet it already really standout to make the differences.
Personally i'd put it this way Capacity>Speed=Reliability since the SSD will be used for OS and apps anyway, important data is still stored in HDDs.You definitely won't regret getting a SSD for your desktop

I think it's using the SATA2 SSD and thus deliver the speed of 260MBps.
The new Macbook AIR is running on a Sandy Bridge system.
SATA3 SSD should be supported.
It would be a beast if SATA3 SSD is used.
The form factor is different, the MBA uses mSATA SSDs that have connectors that look like miniPCIE so normal SATA3 SSDs such as the Intel 510 can't be used.Even the shape is different, such SSDs look like RAM DIMMs
