Hi there,

My cousin's macbook pro 13" experiencing this issue when playing DVD/avi/movie on her VLC. It's less than 2 months old. Any sifus out there know what is the prob? DVD drive kaput? I'm using unibody Macbook white for a year (used to use PowerMac G4 biggrin.gif), no problem so far.

Haha she's old school. I made her install Perian and clear her preferences file. And it works. I guess it's the preferences file. Now it's okay on VLC!

If you need windows to get your work done, you can actually use bootcamp. If me, i'd sell off the acer and keep the mbp. Though, I am using 2 laptops now, hahaha! 1 macbook and 1 lenovo for work.

wow you people are really into your apple gadgets eh? you refer to your macbooks as macs, and reserve the word "laptop" for everything else tongue.gif. to me, keeping 2 laptops seems like a waste. it's like having a wife and a mistress...and i can't tell which is the wife and which is the mistress.

ok here's another question: does a macbook's value drop drastically after about a year (assuming everything is in pristine condition after a year)?

Company give free laptop, what to do. I bring it to work, and now the battery is dead, just about 1 yr old. The macbook is more for personal use, graphics/videos rendering, PS, which is what I'm into smile.gif
