QUOTE(JohnnyBeGud @ Sep 14 2010, 11:52 PM) I plug the adapter on for the whole 12 hours. Actually, I plug in 24/7. I only switch off my mbp every 2 to 3 days. And I calibrate the batts once a month. Once a week I would take my mbp to the couch and surf internet without the power adapter. QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Sep 15 2010, 12:18 AM) i have the same approach as JohnnyBeGud what you're doing is unnecessarily using up ur battery. more cycles = faster your battery will wear out. dun worry too much abt battery lah, juz keep it plugged in whenever it's convenient for you. as long as u calibrate it once a week or fortnight u'll be fine. my MBP is almost 2yrs n im pretty satisfied with my battery life so far. Added on September 15, 2010, 1:13 amanyway, i've been collecting mkv files lately so im planning to get another external drive n have it formatted as NTFS ntfs-3g is horribly slow, so im wondering if any of you can compare between tuxera and paragon? i've been reading a few reviews online n it seems that paragon is faster but less reliable. this might be outdated so im hoping if anyone here can share their insight i've also stumbled upon enabling native ntfs support in snow leopard for each mounted ntfs drive ( http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?stor...090913140023382 ). but then you need to deal with terminal so probably this ( http://ntfsmounter.com/ ) is a better idea. anyone tried these two before? or should i just start a poll? QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Sep 15 2010, 08:03 PM) better leave the adapter connected. if u let the battery drain, it is going to eat up ur cycle count hence make ur battery depleted faster. thanks for the comments! but now i nver do that liao..i plug in all the time..=) |

QUOTE(gurus @ Oct 17 2010, 01:23 AM) u accidentally knock it urself ka? haha..i also dunno..i din realised it until few days when im sooooo free and i stare at my mbp only i realised..how old is ur mbp? dont think can claim la, unless u open on the spot and saw the defect else it should be done by urself hmm..thanks anyway QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Oct 17 2010, 03:08 AM) yeap u should. keep the receipt as well my mbp with 2 protection..one is the sponge protector, another one is my backpack..sigh..well im sure it didnt bend itself i saw the picture but i cant imagine why they have to separate the batteries into 4 compartments. another rumour is it's using some kind of SSD card as storage instead of HDD or SSD. also not sure if it's still going to be 13" or 11" QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Oct 17 2010, 10:19 AM) try go hit your proton into a wall and ask proton got warranty or not la |

QUOTE(aiyish @ Dec 27 2010, 03:59 PM) every filesQUOTE(JohnnyBeGud @ Dec 27 2010, 04:01 PM) QUOTE(benny888 @ Dec 27 2010, 04:05 PM) That is most probably because your HDD is using Windows NTFS format. The MAC can read and write to the normal Fat32 Windows format. Any FAT32 formatted hard drive is read/write possible by either Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X. But if you have formatted the HDD using Windows Vista/Windows 7 it is most probably formatted as NTFS hmm..coz i was wondering why i can transfer out but cannot transfer in..Ok, i will try to solve it.thanks! NTFS formatting overcome the limit of maximum file size of 4GB in writing files to any hard drive. However, while Mac OS X can read NTFS drive partitions, it cannot write to it. So if this is so, your solution for Mac to read/write to a HDD is to have the HDD formatted as FAT32, which if you do that all your data in the HDD will be lost However there is another solution for this issue : Use NTFS-3G for Mac OS X download it at : ( http://www.tuxera.com/mac/tuxerantfs_2010.10.dmg ) together with MacFuse ( http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/downloads...USE-2.0.3,2.dmg ) which will allow your Mac write to an NTFS formatted hard drive as well as read it Please GOOGLE for these 2 software to understand how to use it |
