Hi guys, I've just bought a MBP 15" from Machines in Mid Valley just now. Can I know why my download speeds are sooo slow? Around 0.2 kb/s when i m downloading firefox installer.. but when i browse the internet, its fast.. just the download is slow. I tried using my old VAIO and its downloading at 180kb/s.. what's the problem here?

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Aug 30 2010, 03:20 AM) Just tried it again just now, it's downloading at 120 kb/s instead of my usual speed of 180-200kb/s.. Tried downloading other stuff also same. Seems like my download speed has been cut down by 1/3 using the MBP |

guys, is it normal when it gets kinda hot at the speakers part, especially the left side where the charging slot is located? I'm not even running multiple applications, just watching movies on megaupload. I'm using MBP 15". Any ways to reduce the heat generated?

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Sep 21 2010, 07:30 PM) watching movies no megaupload = using flash i see.. thx for the heads up flash is known to be resource intensive, so ur computer is working harder -> generate more heat. that's the reason it's not on iOS device reduce heat? well if u're in an air-conditioned room shud be ok. else juz let it be lah. being hot is good, it means the aluminium body is doing its job conducting the heat from inside to the atmosphere. u dont want the heat to get trapped inside QUOTE(putochip123 @ Sep 22 2010, 01:14 AM) try download this smeFanControl http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23049/smcfancontrol try tpmaximise ur fan speed at 6000 sure will keep ur system under 70'c, my core i7 620M with 6000RPM runs games at 72'c only thx for the link. will try it later.Added on September 22, 2010, 12:38 pm QUOTE(farhannordin @ Sep 22 2010, 11:59 AM) which model is ur MBP and your cycle count? mine after 1 month also around 6500. you did not connect your power adaptor most of the time? This post has been edited by Visualize: Sep 22 2010, 12:38 PM |
