Thank you for the replies, looks like I might be better off with a MBP though have to admit the display on the MBA is gorgeous! thumbup.gif  Steve said the MBA is the future of Macbooks, what are the likelihood of the MBP being upgraded next year without an optical drive? sweat.gif

No more back-lid keyboards for the next line of MBP tongue.gif

so far after using for 2 days, i am quite impressed with Mac OS X....so far got 2 issues.... having problem on
AppleCare Protection Plan registration (even call apple care ,....still take some times to rectify)..
and also having problem connecting to internet.... sometimes ok sometimes can"t....

For surfing the internet, I did a comparison with my 2 year old Dell vostro 1200 (intel centrino 1.4ghz 3 gb ram)  with macbook air...noticed
that the Dell actuall faster.... really don't understand !

That's a good news to hear.

Just for sharing purpose, may I know which feature of OS X that get you impressed with? Coming from Windows or Linux background?

I have yet to tried Mac OS X myself but I'm just afraid that I won't be utilizing the OS as it should. I'm not a designer or came from multimedia background anyway. But one just can't resist with the form factor (MBA).

By that do you mean that your MBA is unable to detect/scan your wireless access point?

If it is able to scan, perhaps try changing the wireless transmit mode to B instead of G/N? By the way you are using the default channel 11 right?

Do iMac and Macbook get viruses?
*
It's not the machine that will get the viruses, it's the OS. AFAIK there is only rare sighting where Mac OS X is affected with virus, albeit the deadly ones.

So rest assured. smile.gif

I'm not sure about that. But my friend was very unlucky when he got his mbp, when he unboxed it, he realised the "D" key had fall off the keyboard, then he called Apple Care for a exchange, Apple came to his house to pick up the mbp and after few days later he got another new one, then after 1 day, the "G" key fall off. *Really unlucky*

That's an odd case. So sent it for replacement again for the second unit?
