QUOTE(Docile @ Nov 9 2010, 12:27 PM) Hi guys... im totally a newbie in mac... but i would like to try it out. As i'm getting a macbook next week, just a humble question, what are the things to check or to make sure on the macbook, when purchasing?? Check everything is stated on the box is inside the box.Turn it on on the spot, just in case dead on arrival. Try charging the batteries to check if it is working or not. Hope this helps ADDED: QUOTE(hbong @ Nov 9 2010, 05:32 PM) Guys, I thinking to purchase MBA via online education store. Do they need any proof of student Id etc? Nope, the last time I helped my friend to buy his macbook pro, they do not need any proof, but you are only allow to buy once with that price in a yearThis post has been edited by more2teayap: Nov 9 2010, 06:18 PM |

QUOTE(mememe12 @ Nov 9 2010, 07:38 PM) some forumers said they will do a random check.. means if u are unlucky.. then u need to provide your student's proof I'm not sure about that. But my friend was very unlucky when he got his mbp, when he unboxed it, he realised the "D" key had fall off the keyboard, then he called Apple Care for a exchange, Apple came to his house to pick up the mbp and after few days later he got another new one, then after 1 day, the "G" key fall off. *Really unlucky* |

QUOTE(objectifyme @ Nov 18 2010, 09:21 PM) For those who own both a MacBook Pro and Air, how do they compare with each other in terms of performance? Do you find yourself using the Air more than the Pro? I'm currently deciding between the two, but leaning more towards the MacBook Air for portability. I'd love to hear any opinions. If you just using it for some browsing and light task, just go for the air, if heavy task for sure go for proAlso, a friend of mine deemed the MacBook Air as 'fragile' after seeing it today. Is this true? I've only seen it about once or twice, so I don't really know. Thanks for any answers! It doesn't looks fragile to me, instead, it looks sexy to me |

QUOTE(llsphinxll @ Jan 7 2011, 09:02 PM) hahha really thought of doing this. but currently the table is at 'feng shui' place. There is a DIY way to extend your router's wifi range, try google on it. I haven't try on it yet since I do not have any problems with my routerusing belkin modem + router 2in1. not sure whether its G or N. so N can go further? *sorry if im discussing about modem here. |

QUOTE(sumtuckieeeee @ Jan 19 2011, 12:56 PM) I have a problem in connecting to the internet. The place I'm staying now has 3 connections. The thing is I can only connect to only 1 of the connections out of the 3. The other 2 it's written connected at the air port but whenever I open safari, it's written that I'm not connected to the internet. It's not the internet problem cause my gf can connect to the other 2 connections. Can anyone help me on this? I used to save all the connections but I tried removing it and to reconnect but it's still the same. Check network preferences if the AP does give you any IP or not |
