The senior sales guy in Mac City told me no1 has the 128gb, 11" MacBook Air in stock. Is it true? I was too deeply in love with it oredi after trying it out yesterday n had to take it home even though it's only 64gb.

Also couldn't find any of the accessories like soft case, palm rest, Speck casing n all. Any1 seen them around?

Hey guys! I found an unused 2006 Macbook Pro at my house and thought that I should try and switch to a Mac to see what it's all about.

The reason my dad stopped using it years ago was because there was a problem with the audio. I checked preferences and it seems that no output device is detected, I tried searching for solutions on Google but my problem is: No sound from speakers, headphones, external speakers and I don't have the red light problem. I tried updating the software and installed Snow Leopard but nothing is solving it.

The most recent resource I can find on this problem was at least 2 years ago and it was still unsolved then. So I just thought that I could try my luck here because maybe there's a more recent fix that I am unable to find.

Any ideas guys?

I made a thread in the Technical Support section but was asked to move it here.

I bought an 11" 128GB MBA on Nov 18 from Machines, Midvalley. That's a month ago. Didn't you check with shops other than MacCity? For obvious reasons, I'm sure they would tell you that no-one else has stocks if they didn't.

Hope you get your prob solved.

It'll definitely make it hotter. A case or a skin acts as an insulator.

Hey guys,

Having some health issues with my macbook white (2009) battery. When I plug the charger in, it seems the health tends to fluctuate to 93-96%. But when I unplug it, its back on 100%. Anyone can explain this? I did a quick search on google and found out that some say you need to "exercise" your battery. So basically, you "use it or lose it". I wouldnt actually mind that but I have my mbw extended to my 23inch dell lcd 24 hours a day and once i plug the power off, the screen display automatically shuts. Anyone can help?

its true but it's not like it'll burn anything. if u dont want to get scratches, then go ahead and get some protection. no need to worry about heat

He told me Machines oso currently no stock for the 128gb. Anyway, I was too deeply in love by that time n just had to take 1 home immediately. laugh.gif My old MacBook Air 13" is 80gb anyway, so I'm kinda used to working with a small HDD on my Air. I figured I'll be setting up either a Buffalo or WD online storage anyway n I can then have tons of storage accessible from anywhere, anytime.

i just bought my very first MacBook Pro 13" last night, spent close to 8 hours just fiddling with it.

coming from windows,it's a huge departure,IMO blush.gif

i'm unsure if it's been mentioned(searched, but no results appeared) but do check out
CODE
www.hiddenapp.com
it's a web based security app that helps you track a stolen Mac. it costs 20 USD,but until the 1st of January 2011,it's absolutely FOC.

so get it now before they start charging for the app again tongue.gif

i tried it last night, worked great.

im a little taken aback at the lack of software recommendations on the first post.
im not criticising or anything, but it would help mac noobs like myself if there was a list of recommended apps in the first post biggrin.gif

right now i've just installed the core basics sweat.gif vlc media player being one of them.

im still looking for a good downloader.
love IDM on windows, but unfortunately there's no mac alternative that i can find. sad.gif any recommendations? smile.gif

hiddenapp sounds great. maybe you can write us a short review? smile.gif

i have to agree about the lack of easy-to-find software recommendations. you can just ask here if u want smile.gif for a download manager, the best IMO is speed download. if u're a firefox user, downthemall works great. as for me, im satisfied with chrome's built in downloader tongue.gif

to write a proper review i'd have to wait til my mac gets stolen laugh.gif

ok,ok..scary thought.

but anyway, they have a test feature on the site and when i tried it, it took a few minutes to ping my laptop after which it took a picture of the user, and grabbed some network information-which i dont really care about tongue.gif

it's also supposed to grab screenshots of what the thief is currently doing, but i didnt wait around long enough for the system to grab that piece of info.

i just know it works as advertised-at the very least i will know what the thief looks like and could* take it to the cops.

*assuming they give a damn to begin with sleep.gif

there's a video demo on the site.check it out for the full set of features(demo)

Oh man, after a few days with the Air, I think I want to ditch my 2.8 Ghz Macbook pro AND the 11" air.. and get a maxed out 13" air to serve as my primary laptop. It is THAT good..

Low Yat should have them. The USB audio thingies are about RM15-35 each. The ones I've tried so far all work with OS X. I think most USB headphones should work. I use the Logitech one, no probs.
