If you're going for a 13", get the 13" MBA. The SSD makes it fly. If possible get, 4GB ram & 2.13 GHz. That'll smoke any 13" MacBook, Pro or not.

And there is no 2.13GHz MacBook Air in the current lineup. So the top speed is 1.86GHz. 2.13Ghz MacBook Air, the previous gen, scores quite a lot lower in Geekbench due to Apple's CPU throttling.

Dun have meh? I'm quite sure 2.13GHz is available in last month's lineup. I think a lot of people new to Macs in this forum, try not to confuse them with wrong and incorrect info. Check first, OK?

Oh I see, you're talking about Machines cash & carry, you're right then. You know that Apple doesn't sell in Machines alone, right? You can try other shops for the higher gigs.

In addition, don't based a buying decision on Geekbench. Go to a shop and try out the MBA 13" 1.86 vs a MacBook Pro 13" 2.4.

Unfortunately yes, my first experience with the backlit keyb was with the 1st gen MBA. Didn't think much of it at first. Sounded like a novelty but grown to like it a lot. Now only can get lighted keyb with 15".

That's to eject the CD/DVD from the drive. Every Mac has one since the drives got no button.

Have you tried pressing it, if you don't a have DVD drive then I don't think it'll do anything. Maybe you can change it to do something useful using Keyboard in System Prefs.

Yea I am on Ultimate as well....even without doing all those tests, on a daily basis I can feel the speed difference. It's really a great portable laptop tongue.gif

Fresh install of 10.6.4 on a MBP 15" i7, 8GB with Momentus XT, no bootcamp. Don't remember exactly but boot time was about 20-25 secs (after 3 or 4 boots). I timed from pressing power button to appearance of loginwindow.
