i dun think tenant should pay that, then why not tenant pay maintenance fees, cukai tanah, all the cukai, insurance, installment for the owner? what is the responsibility of the owner? just collect rental from us? siao?

Its not difficult as some mentioned about utilities. Yes tenant have to be responsible about it. Just as what the owners have to do when its vacant. Owners still pay the minimum water charge unless its terminated. Same goes to TNB and Indah Water. Years ago Indah Water charges are included in water bill. That was really long ago. So very simple, when they privatise the service, tenant have to accept that they have to pay for it.

After so many years, i suddenly received a bill from Indah Water. I am staying in apartment and i have 2 questions i hope someone can tell me:-

1. SHouldn't the bill be paid by the apartment's management under maintenance fee?
2. How come they are only sending the silly bill to me now?

tenant pangsai, landlord bayar?

i think landlord can factor in the indah water bill into the monthly rents as the charge is fix unlike the water bill and electricity bill.

Tats the prob and arguement here. Some tenants take thgs for granted. I even heard my fren's tenant argue tat, he pangsai onot, renting onot, landlord stil hav to bear it cos if he chao, nothin landlord can do. So try to avoid tis tyoe of tenants. the best part is put all tis clauses in TA.

This is true for Indah water. But in real practice, landlord will insist tenant to pay.
A grey area, agent must get one party to bear the cost

I rented an old house for 2 years. I paid rental RM1650 a month, now I moved out already, landlord chased me to pay Indah Water bill. In my life none of my landlord asked to pay Indah Water Billl (with cheaper rental some more). What should I do?

Question is why Indah Water bill is more expensive than water bill. IMO, logistic cost to bring clean water to your house is more expensive.

In the past, it is covered in cukai pintu until the birth of Indah Water.
