you would need thick fabric , something like carpet to absorb sound ...am I right?

All wallpapers are the same , not meant to absorb heat . To absorb sound , YES.

You should get something to cover your window which is the source of the heat i.e. maybe putting blackout.

I actually dont do curtain rail only, sorry. I only do when you engage for other service and help you to do for free.

I would suggest that you use vertical blinds. The cost depends on how big is the area .

The curtain rod can be joined , there is a connector BUT you can't pull it to the end cos the bracket supporting the rods will block it.

If you observe carefully at the picture (the one with the curtain, on the left side where there is a bracket) you posted , the bracket will prevent the curtain from fully pulled to the end . Anyway, it is perfectly ok .
