Evening guys,

I just installed a very good player, It is not too much if I say, it smoked VLC and MPC home cinema by miles. Not many people aware of this player

I always notice that there are slight jitter when play MKV movie, it is not 100 smooth. this player take it very well.
even better, it also can convert 1080i to 1080p

its easy if I put it this way - "a new experience Movie on PC"

WHAT SO SPECIAL?
It converts 30/29fps video to 60fps, giving U freaking smooth video,
Automatically use GPU instead of CPU
Works both for nVidia and ATI
Works with MCE remote, and pc remote
lots of enhance feature such as detail boost, light boost
No need to do any tweak, just install, enable "motion²" feature and enjoy

works great on normal movie too

WEAKNESS
-upscale is not so good, if u want to see dvd rip movie, just use VLC with upscale enable. For MKV and HD video with X.264 format, it works flawlessly
-only Splash Pro can enable Motion² feature, splash lite could not enable the feature
-Splash pro trial only for 30days if u like it u can buy it for USD 19 or 'you know how'
you can pm me if u can't find the patch or crack for the player on the net

STRENGTH
- Just try it, on my 40" monitor, it still looks great, deym I need to watch all my HD movies again
-Very smooth . smooth smooth smooth smooth
-my friends pc run with old onboard GPU, cannot even play HD 1080p, with splash pro it can play smoothly and no tearing.

WHERE TO GET
http://www.mirillis.com/en/products/splashpro.html - homepage

TIPS
press "O" or , click button on the very left on controls button (play, next button) to see the menu to enable motion²
"some time download using hotfile is easy, when google, u can use "incl" to say "including" if they include something good, don't forget to also write mirilis when try to find this file on the net."

Most Hollywood movies are shot at 24fps. Why force it to play at 60fps. Would it look weird to u? It always look damn weird to me. Looks like all the actions are being fast forwarded rclxub.gif

If watching sports or say... music performances, 60fps is cream of the crop.

I tried the player.
To be honest, it has some quality in it no doubt. Has the potential to be a good player.
But unfortunately, de-interlacing for whatever reason.. does not work.

And the handling of forcing 60fps to the video isn't really done correctly.

Decent player at best, for now that is since I know the player is still pretty new.

yes, it is not free. but there are patch on the net like other free-trial software.

at first it might be a lil weird, give the player some time. may u feel what the 60fps is for

actually when movies frame rate is lower than 60fps, human eyes can detect the transition of the frame. like lagging, or jitter

when convert to 60fps, movies will be smooth, like we normally see thing. thats the idea of 60 fps.

you can see the difference when u enable the demo mode. the screen will devide into 2.left panel is normal frame rate, and right panel is the 60fps.

I recommend this player to see HD movies, .mkv, or avi with x.264 encoding. there will be indication of "GPU" at the lower left panel of the player to indicate that the movies is playing by using gpu to render the image.

also I suggest not to turn the motion² all the way to the right, like in the picture. value of 1 to 5 is enough. not 10 I guess.

If the movie is shot at 60fps then it'll be smooth. But to convert from 24fps to 60fps is a big no no for me. To me its worse than converting a regular 2D movie to 3D, which is real bad enough. The information is just not there. The number of frames in 60fps is more than double the number of frames in 24fps. How is it going to put something which is not there. The result is really really weird for me.

Like I said... their handling of forced 60fps isn't done correctly.
I can easily enable my own 60fps in WMP11 with haali with bob deinterlacing.

Not only it does not use any of my CPU resources (which on the other hand, this player DOES), the effect is much better than what it is implemented on this player.

I do not enable the motion settings at all, the movements all become very unreal.

As for the player itself, it's a great player. It just works. And yes, it's true that it plays very smoothly. the ONE thing I REALLY liked about this player is that when I jump from one part of a movie to another part, it's really fast and smooth. Media player Classic and VLC is terrible at this, very laggy.
