Hi All,

I bought a 2 room apartment with 2 bathroom.

Bathroom1 - attached to master bedroom
Bathroom2 - not attached to any room

I was thinking is it advisable to remove the bathroom1's toilet bowl - cover it up and then tiled it? I was thinking of doing a glass partition with glass door for the shower area. Hence, not enough space if I maintain the toilet bowl.

Thanks!!

Contractor does not buy back 2nd hand items (for me). Even the next client wants to install toilet bowl, they will ask for new toilet bowl. And how much u intend to sell it? RM 50?

It was just a question. Don't need to be sarcastic.

I think those who have replied didn't really quite get the question in mind.

This is the question: is it advisable to remove the bathroom1's toilet bowl - cover it up and then tiled it?

You can always remove the toilet bowl and seal off the sewage pipe. However, you will be left with only one toilet, not a good idea. Why don't you just make a glass partition, without a door. One that doesn't divide complete but still protects other parts of the toilet from water splashes. You can also opt for shower curtains.

Hey,

Thanks for the idea but i've already thought of that and I don't need 2 toilet bowls la actually. I prefer aussie/UK style houses which has 1 toilet and 1 bath (without toilet bowl) or just 1 bath+toilet only. At least the bathroom will be more spacious instead of it being a pigeon hole which sucks and that every apartment in malaysia is of this size, except for those penthouses/multi-million priced ones.

If i don't do the glass door heading towards the shower, then all the tiny bit splashes of water will still go to the 'dry' part of the bathroom, hence creating a mess.... If only both bathrooms were next to each other - then i could've combined it and make a bigger bathroom.

Well i guess now it's do-able to remove the toilet bowl+seal off the sewage pipe as suggested. biggrin.gif

You can do what you want to do as long as you can pay for it. Please consider the following. Is that your apartment? Do you intent to sell it in future? You may have an Aussie taste on number toilets in an apartment but that is not the Malaysian taste. When you resell your unit people will take this as a point to negotiate lower price. I suggest not to seal off the pipping. Cover and conceal it in anyway your contractor/designer recomend you.

1) As mention in post#1 - i have said that i BOUGHT the apartment - of course it belongs to me.
2) I am asking this as i do not intend to SELL in the future.
3) I was just asking for if it can be done, not on the opinion if other ppl's preference is of 1 toilet or 2 toilets and what not.
4) Thank you for your suggestion.
