Paint a model kit is never easy at 1st, and it also depends on how a modeler defines "easy". You can paint the colour straight on the runner, then only cut the parts out, but there will be nib holes of course; You can cut them out 1st, group them together by body parts or runner numbers, then only paint; You can cut them out 1st, sand and modify with pla plates/pla beams/3rd party parts, then only paint... everything depends on you, whether how hard you want to make it.
I think painting a model kit is not easy, but it's fun to do, if you have all the correct tools and materials with you of course. I have invested quite some money for the tools, since i'm sure that modeling is one of my hobby that would last forever

Of course, it's not cheap though those materials and tools, but they would last you for very long if you know to how take care and maintain them.
