according to astro website, upgrade from old astro box to byond PVR is not free, it will cost you RM300

read carefully my picture attachment, for old astro box upgrading to byond PVR:
RM400 if you want to keep your old astro box
RM300 if you return your old astro box get RM100 discount

for byond PVR, RM10/month recording fee is compulsory, in another word you must pay RM10 per month on top of everything else, HD fee of RM20/month is optional though

so you want to upgrade to byond or byondPVR

byond can also do recording, RM5/month fee, you must buy WD my passport AV 320GB usb external hard disk yourself, hard disk will cost you another RM243

one point to note is that for byond, RM20/month HD fee is compulsory

1. You need to buy HDMI splitter with HDCP capable.
2. Byond don't have optical out, only coax out for digital output. You need to buy converter if you still need to do that.

HD fee is compulsory if you want to change to byond with 12 months contract. Installation fee is waived if you return your old set.

Recording fee is compulsory if you change to PVR, but HD is optional. You also need to pay installation fee RM300.

Either Astro add more SD & HD channel more or our Govenment is "doomed".
