Yeah.. like a not, we'll have to pay that damm tax. But I think it not fair to all malaysian people because our government not provide best FTA (free to air TV) service, coverage and quality to all malaysian people. That why people have subscribe astro.

I think it's only a matter of time before some China company come out with HDMI recorder for HDCP content. HDCP master key already leaked. Finger crossed.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- The Information Communication and Culture Ministry will conduct a thorough study before deciding whether to impose service tax on paid television.

Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said an Evaluation Committee had been formed to assess the impact of the proposed move on the household economy and the service provider.

"We will do the study as soon as possible," he said after officiating at the Malam Inspitari 2010, a dance programme organised by the National Culture and Arts Department, here, Wednesday night.

Rais said the paid TV service tax issue should also be looked from the financal burden and number of subscribers of the station providing the paid television service.

When tabling the 2011 Budget recently, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced that the government proposed to impose service tax on paid television.

On promotion of culture to the younger generation, he said all the races should be involved in the performing arts, including dance, to keep them alive for the benefit of current and future generations.

SYDNEY/LONDON/WARSAW: The international MTVNHD service is extending its distribution, with a launch in Australia and new deals in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

The channel becomes available in Australia on November 1 on Foxtel, reaching some 250,000 HD households. This is the 30th market that MTVNHD has entered. The service also recent grew its reach with new subscribers in Germany on Unity Media. Starting November 4, MTVNHD will also be available on Canal Digital in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

MTVNHD is music-focused channel, with all programming presented in high definition.
