just want to ask bout astro byond

i heard if i change to astro byond,they will take my previous card for astro ?
so does that mean,the new astro card only can be used on astro byond decoder ?
how bout the older decoder ?not compatible?
bcause i have astro at my village,but that astro have only few channels,no sports and movies,usually i will bring my astro card to my village to watch sports,movies.

and how to check astro accoun number bside the bills ?

you must surrender your old smart card when upgrading to byond

new smart card can only be used with single byond box, some sort of security measure

I think someone tried the new smartcard with old astro box, you will get audio only, no video

when balik kampung, bring along your byond box + remote control + new smartcard, byond box can use old astro dish

alternative way to check your astro account number is to call astro, just give them your IC details and they will give you your a/c number

and some said astro byond can record.

If the TV is HD, then when you connect it to B.yond decoder using a HDMI cable, then the HD channels will be in HD.

For example, if you have the sports package already, then you get Supersport HD and ESPN HD.

The RM20 monthly is the fee to access the HD channels in your subscription package, not to access the package.

If you get Astro PVR, you can automatically record. If you get B.yond decoder, you need to get an external HDD then activate your recording function by calling Astro. PVR costs an additional RM10 a month. B.yond + recording costs RM5 a month.

for byond:
compulsory HD fee: RM20/month
optional recording fee: RM5/month
to store recording you must buy yourself a RM270 WD my passport AV 320GB external USB hard drive


for byond PVR:
compulsory recording fee: RM10/month
optional HD fee: Rm20/month
this box come with free 500GB internal hard disk, please note however you need special 2-output LNB because byond PVR has twin tuners, so it needs 2 cables from the stellite dish to the pvr decoder box

oh i see,then why they need to change the dish if the old dish still worked ?

so i already have all sports channels,movies - so i only need to pay rm 20 evry month right for those 2 channels ?

so which one to get?astro byond or pvr ?i don;t think im going to record anything,gonna get only byond

new 65cm dish is slightly bigger, astro give new dish in the byond package, so just take it, compare to old 60cm dish, new dish will receive more satellite signal, if in the future astro give you 1m dish, even better

Just want to check if AstroView mag has HD channels listing. Do they have such issues to cater for Byond subscribers?

Channel 300 is a one day affair I think for a show if i am not mistaken..

byond upgrade is free of charge, just return old equipment to astro

however Rm20/month HD fee must be paid
