If RTM can use maybe both C-Band/Ku-Band, why Astro is given only KU-Band signal? Or something similar?

QUOTE(smileguy @ Oct 6 2010, 10:58 AM) If Star Movies 433 can go HD at the same time as thier SD 413 why then HBO is so grand it needs one hour delay I wonder HBO HD should stay widescreen like SMV HD (+ delay) . This post has been edited by Qash-M: Oct 6 2010, 11:18 AM |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Oct 6 2010, 06:16 PM) Hmm.. I really doubt that our teresterial TV will broadcast 100% in digital on 2015 based on current situation now.... Media Prima channel => Slowpoke. Probably only RTM will do that... I don't see any sign for our private teresterial TV like TV3, NTV7, 8TV and TV9 broadcasting in digital currently.... I heard that TV3 already started their testing phase by broadcast in digital signal... they chose DMB-T/H as broadcast system.... |

QUOTE(neb @ Oct 6 2010, 11:43 PM) Didn't have chances to watch old version. Maybe new one is FABULOUS. Added on October 6, 2010, 11:53 pm QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Oct 6 2010, 11:46 PM) Or they have feel satisfied with current performance now. When RTM Muzik Aktif was launched, there's a intro about digital tv. People need to be imformed more about digital tv. Plus, viewers for that kind of channels also didn't make any respond/request for them to upgrade their transmission method to HD or at least in Digital.... It is different from us, who are a bit "advance" in terms of technology... we feel all of television station should migrate to Digital and HD broadcasting... QUOTE InnoCodec Showcases New H.264 Encoder And Decoder Codec At ASIS2010 October 7, 2010 Open264-VR shows 100% increased performance compared to x264 codec on multi camera environment. Open264-D shows 30%+ increased performance compared to open codecs such as FFMPEG in multi-channel operations. Seoul, South Korea - InnoCodec, the codec division of Innodep Inc., and one of the leading codec manufacturer specializing on H.264(H264, AVC, or MPEG-4 part10) software-based encoding and decoding technology for SD, HD and full HD resolutions, recently extended an open invitation to customers and interested parties to visit the InnoCodec booth #3595 at the ASIS2010 show in Dallas, TX, USA where industry professionals can see the latest H.264 Encoder and Decoder codecs for multichannel DVR & VMS applications. InnoCodec will be exhibiting together with Innotive, www.innotive.com, who is the leading UX (user experience) company enhancing user experience in the surveillance industry with INNOWATCH products, and also one of the customers using InnoCodec products. InnoCodec understands specific requirements from the surveillance industry since key engineers of the company all comes with 10+ years of security software industry. InnoCodec serves diverse market segments including the Security, Surveillance, Broadcast, Digital Signage and Industrial markets by providing a superior H.264 encoding and decoding codec formats. Key markets served by the Open264 series are video surveillance and security markets where live stream video for DVR(Digital video recording) and higher number of video channel handling with low CPU resource is critical. Here are the three main products that will be showcased in ASIS2010 in Dallas. Open264-VR: By optimizing memory bandwidth usage for higher performance, Open264-VR can simultaneously encode and decode up to 16 channels of D1(720x480) resolution on i5 750CPU. Of course recent faster CPU will show higher channel loading. Open264-VR is a paired solution which has both Encoder and Decoder customized for each other, and shows 100% increased performance compared to x264 codec on multichannel applications. Open264-HR: This codec is a H.264 Encoder and Decoder package for Full HD resolution. By optimizing CPU core usage for higher performance, Open264-HR can simultaneously encode and decode Full HD(1920x1088) resolution on i5 750 CPU. It is the fastest software encoder/decoder for Full HD resolution in the world. Ultra-fast delay time of 13ms per frame, and it supports up to 75fps in Full HD. Additional features include watermarking selected camera or video stream for future reference. Open264-D: By optimizing memory bandwidth usage for higher performance, Open264-D can decode up to 40 channels of D1(720x480) resolution on i5 750 CPU. This is a specialized H.264 Decoder package for DVR and VMS(Video Management Solution) applications. Open264-D shows 30%+ increased performance compared to open codecs such as FFMPEG in multi-channel operations. "Multi-channel loading environment such as Digital Video Recorder(DVR) and DVR capture board applications are a very different market compared to broadcasting market," said Mr. Grant LEE, CEO of Innodep Inc. "Real-time, stable, live stream video is critical due to the nature of the security industry, but maintaining high image quality for verification, good compression rate for high speed data transfer, while optimizing the memory bandwidth was a real challenge." http://www.digitalbroadcasting.com/article...1?VNETCOOKIE=NO Profits for Astro? QUOTE(writesimply @ Oct 8 2010, 12:47 PM) But Media Prima is not getting away free either. Just because they are testing using DMB-T because it's cheaper, doesn't mean that's the one that RTM will choose. Media Prima and Astro are bound by the fact that they are leasing the airwaves from the government. So if RTM wants to go DVB-T2, that will be the defacto digital standard for Malaysia's OTA broadcast. And so far, I believe the Malaysian standard was set at DVB2. Better all use DVB-S2 instead. fuad |
