Hmm..

If u want to adopt proper 'black style' ways of getting this guy caught, what you should do is this.

After police report (MUST ALWAYS MAKE FIRST!!)

1. Get his Picture & Address (DONE)
2. Make a A4 Leaflet with his picture & details

e.g.

Go photostat 500 copies. Distribute around his area. Repeat.

This will shame him and challenge the cops to actually do something, cos definitely SOMEONE will call up.

I have seen this happen in my housing area before. And it worked, cos the police turned up in a few days after the leaflet was distributed and dragged off the culprit, after that no news though!


DO NOT UNLESS LAST RESORT:

1. Pour Red paint, etc (This is something, noob hai money collector only will do. Pro will shame, confront and get the money back.)
2. Whack him upside down, etc

A good three cents bro, but will probably go ignored by most of the buyers and sellers sadly.

Plus, u gotta understand that this is a forum not exactly like eBay or Lelong.com, and the moderators have no legal right to govern anything to do with third party online trading. They just provide an online forum where people congregate and use for trading, not an online trade portal, so the rules are different.

At most they can put dispute tags, close threads etc. Even if they were to close down every thread that wants postage done, people would still deal with each other via PM.

As you said, if buyers had more caution, then this wouldn't happen.

Ok guys, let's not fight amongst ourselves. I may be a bystander, but I have also tried to help as best as I could. Failed miserably, but tried anyway.

And all the 'butthurt' / 'keyboard warrior' comments are not helping. It's not going to help the situation in any manner. Obviously CWH is now on the run, as he has closed his refund thread.

Whoever wants to go and confront him physically, by all means, just don't expect sympathy if you get arrested after beating CWH's brains out. No form of violence is condoned whatsoever, as far as I a concerned.

Those that wish to wait for police action, you've been warned about how long it will take. But if you want your money back, pressure the IO to taking action faster, write letters of complaint to the banks that CWH has been using. E.g.: how can they allow him continuous access to online banking when so many police reports are made. Why aren't they assisting police, etc?

Call the media, consumer associations or even that new cybercrime department the police have set up.


Be more proactive, not just reactive.

No la bro, i understand your being suspicious, especially with the circumstances of late... but i doubt the staff or mods even know who the hell CWH is on the forums, let alone in real life. Just too many threads and users to keep track of. Plus, the dynamic IP makes it even harder.

I've been a forum mod elsewhere before, and usually we don't bother reading the threads once they've been closed.

Their job is usually to clean up obsolete threads and trash them without prejudice.

Tips for those who have not made their police report.

1. If police are reluctant, do not give way. Ask nicely that you be allowed to file your report immediately. Proceed to step 2 and 3 if they still buat badut:

2. Inform them of the other existing reports. Get the names and details of the other I/O's from the thread here. You can then ask them to call the I/O and confirm this case of multiple cons.

3. Inform them about this MCA Press Conference. Nothing sets a policeman's ass on fire like the words "POLITICIAN CONFIRM INVOLVED ALREADY"


And please be polite laaaaaaa, i know police can be damn selekeh but better than a phonebook to the head ok! Not asking you to suck up, but just be polite n firm that you wanna do your report. Surprisingly, cops DO respond well to good manners and confidence. Pity about the follow-through though. whistling.gif

From what I saw, most of them just want Mandy Chia Mei Yee's details off. Most likely posers trying to get into her panties, or idiots who don't know better than to make threats. I already commented btw.


Suggest you screenshot and attention to your police I/O. Who knows, maybe police will bring them in for questioning for making threats and being suspected accomplices. thumbup.gif
