Just starting out on SC2. Getting pawned left right center.

DoTA i bully people, now I'm getting bullied in SC2 T_T

Any tips for a zerg player like me?

Tried spanishwa's build, fail. Try basic roach opener fail also.

Gotta constantly scout for those dumb protoss and terran players, just in case they bunker/canon rush me.

Just pick any 1 base build and try to hit timings. http://www.sc2builds.com/ My experience back in bronze was basically doing 1 base all ins. But timing I try to hit exactly.
*
Oh. I see.

But usually when terran or protoss doesn't attack me. I got a feeling they will be going for phoenix/banshee + cloak.

^ That works too but replays and having a friend who plays around the same time as you so you can get the idea of how to play comes in really handy.. Oh and try playing with A.I. in a straight up game to get a rough feel of how it handles.. Helps a lot smile.gif
*
Been playing with very hard A.I getting better now. Its just that I still can't multitask well. Hand coordination still kinda slow though

Then again, playing with others you won't really know what to expect.

Key to winning is to use the element of surprise I guess and constant scouting.

Hmm, I guess my weakest point is that I'm quite oblivious to drops by terran.

zerg is hardest race to learn . go learn TerranĀ  most easy race to learn u can start buully ppl with simple MMM , <MMT etc

good luck
*
Well actually, I'm trying to master zerg. One thing I like about zerg is that their units can be spawn simultaneously which I like !!!

+ I like infestors. HUUHUHUHUHUHUH.

Fungal and mind control. So syok

Once I get the hang of zerg, then I'll try protoss/terran.

Hey hey hey.. Don't spoil his spirit.. Play Zerg dude, it's the fun-est race to play.. tongue.gif But you have to understand the distinctive race differences and if you don't wanna hit the ladder yet, you can always just go play some custom games.. More often than not you'll meet someone who's just messing around.. smile.gif
*
I don't have an account. I just go to blitz and use their account 1.

Custom game? I usually select melee. Lulz.

Currently now when I'm playing I tend to see terran going for tanks/marine

Protoss usually just mass up at base with blink stalkers and colossi.

From my experience, if you're new, just do like one-base timing attack. This is very effective if you're at Gold or lower league.
You can do baneling bust, 7 roach rush and win the game around 6th to 7th minute game time.
*
I see i see. Cuz husky said usually zerg has to be 1 base ahead of the enemy.

If those terran wall in with bunker, still can bust through?

Gotta learn the basics first hahahahaha.

1 base ahead of the enemy -> this if you wanna play mid to late game. If you are new, trust me it's hard and you end up losing all the way. But it's good if you can practice early expand and mid game type of play. But for the time being, try to 1 base play cheese game first.

If got bunker, try to bust the another side of the supply depot.

Ok noted. Thanks biggrin.gif

Everytime I login into blitz's SC2 account. All the accounts ranking are like 1500+

LOL!! People thought I was some small kid playing in the platinum league cuz I played like a noob. AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.

Relying on one-base all-ins won't help you improve much. Learn to play a macro game. Don't think too much about ladder ranking since you're still new. Just master the mechanics first.

Heres a great tutorial by one of my favorite commentators, DignitasApollo

Ok thanks man.

Played just now, didn't early expand. Just went for 15 pool/gas, then rush them with lings and banelings

It worked pretty well!!! tongue.gif

That's a good way to start, try getting the gist of playing the game first, reading BOs and it's like will take you a long way.. Watch Day9 too if you have the time.. Very insightful and helpful for you in the long run.. smile.gif

k will do biggrin.gif

I started off with terran, I can say for beginners it's really easy especially with timing pushes laugh.gif

I find terran race is the hardest to play later on, followed by Protoss, then zerg easiest.

For now you can choose all-in builds to familiarize yourself with micro and macro first since you're new

Or you can choose the long term route, but you might get demotivated in the process, which is the macro style biggrin.gif
*
I think for now I'll just try to familiarize myself with micro and macro. Still have not fully utilize those hotkeys. sad.gif

not cost effective unless it's some key tech structure like cybernetics core or whatever that you need to take down really fast.. like baneling bust or whatever..  hmm.gif

I see, I see. For now, I always make spores. 4 for main base and 4 more for 2nd base.

usually u can scout this out...

in ZvP, when they go phoenix, spore is the best way to answer it while u keep droning up behind with some queen support as you are quite safe from an attack for some moment...
hydras are pretty bad vs phoenix btw and mutas are too slow for u to get the count high enuff (u need to pop like 10 mutas together)...
ling infestors are a good solution...

in ZvT there is the new banshee expand build into a timing attack which is scary...
again, u would wanna defend with queens and spores due to the same reason above (hydras fail in ZvT and muta are too slow to get early on)...
hold on until u get enuff resource for mutas...
*
Well actually besides putting spores to defend , I was thinking instead of going for muta or hydra, might as well make some banelings and put them in to my overlords and fly it to their base and bomb their workers. brows.gif Cheaper than making mutas

Terran players now very scare liao. Put so many turrets all over their base. Flying my mutas in there also hard ler.

I'm still new to sc2. ZvT for me is ok. I can manage.

The problem now is ZvP. I gotta watch out for so many things. The most bloody annoying thing is mass stalker/sentry.

Fed up with protoss players. All they do is mass up all day long. Brainless strategy. Turtle like a p**sy

Always sticking with that stupid stalker/sentry build.

1. scout better
2. better larvae management, dun miss injects

if u cant do those, change race cause that is how u really play a macro zerg
*
aww man, zerg is fun. I don't wanna change race.....

Just need more practice, I suppose.

Guys, when do you normally tech up to lair then to hive?

Also, do you guys still go for mutas vs terran? Most match I played, terran will make turrets.

One more thing, you guys rely a lot on infestors? Like getting them ASAP.

generally i go for lair at 7-9 minute mark
just held off the 1st push by them

but i also will, on rare occasion, go for a 3 minute lair if i sense heavy gas build opener by the opponent & an engy bay by terran
a sure indicator of Ketroc's Planetary Fortress build with mass ravens (look it up on youtube,u'll see what I mean)
*
Waa..... Ketroc's Planetary Fortress build with mass ravens is gay man......

can mass corrupters counter this?

Added on June 10, 2012, 5:45 pmSigh, sangat frustrating when playing with those seasoned players when your a beginner in SC2.

Wonder how long it will take me to be a pro like I was in Dota. Took me like 4 years to be good at dota. =_+

Er, for ZvZ. Those buggers love to make banelings and speedlings to rush me.
