things to note:

- how OP marauders CAN be.
- what if terran advances his tech?
- what can the protoss to do in such situation?
- colossus isn't quite the answer to everything, however they are definitely needed
- zealots are absolutely essential in a protoss army, and can be VERY devastating after upgrading charge
- macro and micro, noticed how the battles kept raging, and their resource count are always kept low to keep production non stop (with upgrades, with chronos, mules, unit queues, warp ins etc)

i wont spoil everything, so do watch the ustream i linked if you haven't already. its also casted by day9 with NO bullshit hour long theorycrafting lol. which i actually like day9 in that way.

do note: if you're a toss player (like me, despite playing random, i played toss for the vista lasik) it is VERY depressing to watch however, do stick till the end. again, not letting off any spoilers to that smile.gif

i wouldn't quite say standard, but with the masses of roaches and marauders or toss' own stalkers, it sure helps to have a couple of immortals running around able to tank and deal hurt to those armored units

Some toss are pretty weak since they tech too fast to get the colossus only to have a small gate army to protect it, which is bad in day[9]'s books. tongue.gif

hi all! long time no post agen lol. so here i am with a season2 replay. and i do believe pvz can be a damn headache for most tossers. and if you're like me, dont feel like thinking, want simple no brainer no strat games vs zherks, i believe the following replay will do some good. the idea is to keep beating the zherk till it stops moving

well thats the basic concept, on more in depth details, wait, what in depth, i believe i said this was a no brainer strat LOL!
seriously though, its a standard 4 gate opening, although as you can see the zerg delayed my opening a bit with the gas cockblock. and the zerg's opening was pretty impressive to say the least.

problem came when zerg didnt bother to upgrade while im having chargelots, +2 weapons etc. thats when he lost the battle of attrition and WASTED his opening. had he gone for roach speed, gotten maybe +1 weapons etc i would've *PROBABLY* lost. still against most zergs, my strat on putting heavy pressure on the expansion is always a viable move. if the zerg never expand, more often than not he will lose you to on equal 1 base plays. and even if he did get the expansion out, the idea of the pressuring is to keep him from saturating the expansion at all/further and/or with some luck, taking the expansion out.

you need to be defensive in the beginning for your expansion to kick in. being defensive is just not my thing and doing complicated strats/bo/styles goes the same for me.

remember back then where i was totally against HTs in favor of colossus? same thing on why i 4 gate zergs and just brute strength my way to victory lol.

while my expansion was a little late in this replay, you can usually sneak in expansions much earlier so long you can contain the zerg's expansion better (which i clearly didnt do that good of a job with no sentry usage (could've blocked off the ramp for example, and then rape all his drones) and some mis micro wasting a couple of stalkers to their deaths.

honestly speaking, i dont think its a very solid strat. it is however, a strat (lol does taking out a hammer and beating a zerg to death with it blindly until it stops moving involves strategy?) SUITS me.

and yes, you are correct. he will definitely have enough to fend me. however while hes pressured to spam units instead of completely saturating the expansion, my tech are pretty much done, and eventually i can even expand myself. the moment i have 2 base equal'ed to the zerg's 1 base that cannot be fully saturated, you know where this is heading.

as i have mentioned, his BIGGEST downfall is 1) teching his units 2) attempt to do runbys as that may probably throw me off my attacking momentum 3) attempt for mutas where i would be forced to go defensive somewhat
