I don't think there is any way for transfer from private university to public university.
Unless you mean further study to Master instead of Bachelor Degree.

If you did Diploma which is MQA acredited you might be able to transfer to IPTA for Degree but in your case an IPTS Foundation can not be used to go into IPTAs.Generally speaking to get into an IPTA at first year level you only either go through STPM or Matrix.

Private Uni foundation ->> IPTA (Public Uni)

Forget it... you should have taken STPM/Govt.Matriculation if you wanted to go to IPTA.

yes, i am interested in shifting from ipts to ipta (altho d ipts i am in now is good--curtin univ of technology). but u c, i'm a west m'sian, i wud prefer it if i'm able to study in west msia instead of sarawak, get it?

coz jpa also allow transfer of uni as long as the particular uni (regardless of ipts or ipta) is in jpa sponsoring list smile.gif

No, I you can't transfer from IPTS to IPTA on a proprietary "foundation" program.

And no, I still don't see why being from West Malaysia is a catalyst for changing universities, much less wanting to transfer to a university in West Malaysia.

I've never understood why Malayans moan and whine how far Sarawak/Sabah is. And its not just those who got a UNIMAS/UMS selection during the UPU selection process. In my experience the same people who complain have no issues if JPA decided to pack them off to (say) UK, so distance is not the real issue.

Sarawakians have been flying across to Malaya for further education for decades. Even when 2 public institutions of higher learning and a handful of private ones sprouted in East Malaysia, there is no lack of Sarawakians putting west Malaysian IPTA's in their UPU preferences.

So forgive us for being a tad cynical when I don't "get it" why being in a Sarawak based institution of higher learning is a reason to change universities, public or private.

You Malayans should be grateful we are peace loving Sarawakians. If this was the Balkans we would have declared independence ages ago.

haha...chill zero degrees yo icon_rolleyes.gif m not discriminating sarawak or sabah etc. i'm juz enquiring on d possiblities of changing from ipts to ipta, but i dun understand how u can interpret that as 'WHINING' *scratch head*

every1 hv their own personal concerns & issues and so do mine. we all haf reasons as to why we choose to do sth in a certain way& i haf my own reasons. u dun expect every1's life to be a smooth sailing one or problem-free, so dun talk so much bout sacrifice or whining.

as for the sacrifices students made to study @far away places, that's none of my business smile.gif

Added on August 6, 2010, 9:58 pmAnd, yeah...i think u r d one who is being a STEREOTYPE& discriminating west malaysians based on d fact that u call us "Malayans". this juz shows how much of disrespect u hv on west malaysians

From your posts, you seem to be BOASTING about your JPA scholarship~
Mind you, YOU are not the ONLY one having such scholarship... so enough with the "holier than thou attitude"...

Some of us here are did STPM/Govt.Matriculation and got JPA scholarship afterwords. Be thankful that you did get it. (boasting about it will get you nowhere)

We could call you "Orang Semenanjung" if you like.

I'm a Sabahan and I agree with Haya. You shouldn't complain when you already got the govt. to sponsor your education even if it is in Sarawak. We have no complaint when we were sent to the peninsular for our higher education, why should you complain? Just be grateful and study well.

hm...u can think wat u like, though. but do bear in mind that i'm not boasting on my scholarship or wat coz i dun even mention about it in my Question. all i wan2 noe iz issues regarding transfer of uni only.

i dun understand how u can interpret my question as 'complain'. i never complained anything about Sarawak or the people in sarawak. In fact, i find the people in sarawak is very friendly, pleasant, well-educated n open-minded.

frankly speaking, u better dun go around boasting urself as a sabahan/sarawakian coz u'll only pollute the Sarawakians' good image.

I've never heard of JPA allowing sponsored Foundations students transferring to universities other than the one where the Foundations is done without terminating the contract. Might want to seek clarification from JPA instead.

I was scratching my head when you said you did the foundation, but no intention of going to Sarawak. So how you did it in the first place? Foundations is a very proprietary course and is not universally accepted unlike STPM/A Levels/IB and etc. You have to do it in that particular university, and continue there.

and i advise you to make peace. You're embarassing those who grew up in the Peninsula (me myself is one).

well, there are many types of sponsorship. mine was after spm...so i did my foundation in curtin under jpa.. if my result meets their requirement then i'l proceed2 degree under jpa.

i only started a topic abt transferrin unis, & ppl come and talk unrelated stuff so i'm juz defending wat i think is correct. i dun see there's any problem with that. they hv the freedom of speech and so do I.

i dun know which part is more embarassing...calling west malaysians as "Malayans" & "whining ppl" or calling sarawakians as "friendly& open minded" ??

anymore posts on unrelated stuff will not be entertained. tq
